this video is about vtec not ivtec. the ivtec part has vct (variable cam timing) in addition to vtec... i recently got a crz with a 1.5 ivtec and am trying to learn more about the vct part

WHAT is pushing the hydraulic pin over ..?? It said a pre-determined level and certain conditions met ... Something has to manually push that hydraulic pin over .. That is not in this video ..

That's just regular VTEC that's been available since the B series. iVTEC incorporates cam phasing, variable intake manifold length, throttle body / valve interaction for better efficiency when cruising, etc...

My dads 63 falcon had split fire plugs . 170 cubic inches of power . One barrel carb and a 2 speed transmission. It was a beast ! Couldn’t keep the front wheels on the ground . Wicked fast .

I own a Honda Civic EX that has VTEC system, and when you are driving the car you can feel the transition at High rpm. It is amazing because it gives like extra performance to the car but only when you need it, while keeping a very low fuel consumption and low rpm in the city traffic. Honda, in my opinion, is one of the best cost:performance ratio cars.
