I just moved from Alberta to Ottawa and what I noticed in Ottawa where is construction zone, especially on highway, I see the construction begin sign, but I do not see the construction End sign or I may missed it. Can you please give me some information about construction signs.

Good tutorial. It's very rare that everyone stops at a 4way at the exact same time, so simple rule is first come first serve. Proceed in order of arrival, but watch out because half the drivers on the road don't know and wont do this.

My question is: For all ways stop, I have come the first to the intersection, but need to yield pedestrians, should the second driver wait for me if he can pass without violation rules? And after pedestrians from my side having crossed the road, what is my sequence now in this line of drivers if there are already others drivers which have come to intersection while I was letting pedestrians to cross?

I might of made the mistake of not paying attention to a 4 way or 2 way stop on my 1st attempt as a student driver, but I've paid more attention since. Usually if I see that somebody across from me is going straight, so the path will automatically be blocked to cross traffic, so if there's no other traffic, I go while the car across from me goes, but I almost got run over on a bike today, because somebody in a car, thought that just cause they have a car & nobody else using the road matters, they failed to come to a complete stop & pulled in front of me, not a student driver either, yeah had me & a Semi driver not only angry, but also worried, so yeah.

You are wrong. It is first to stop not first to arrive.

I was told that at a 4-way stop if all vehicles arrive at the same time and one vehicle is turning left then they go last. All the vehicles going straight go first, if some one is turning right they are second and finally the vehicle turning left is last.

i’m barely driving but the 4 way stop near my house going into the city is always packed so you have to really pay attentions

I'm 42 and have been driving since I was 16, but yesterday I came to a 4 way stop with stop signs where I pulled up at the same time as 2 other cars. Very rare scenario for me. I was sitting there with my left turn signal on for a while, and the other drivers were just sitting there. I was waiting for them to go. I didn't want them to honk at me, and I was pretty intimidated. Nobody was behind me, so I backed up and turned around so they could all go and I could try again. Came back to the intersection and another car pulled up across from me at the same time. Again, my left turn signal was on, didn't really know what to do, didn't want them honking/getting angry, and I was waiting for them to go but they were just sitting there. Nobody was behind me so I backed up and turned around to try a third time. (No I'm not an idiot/stupid, I have a 124 IQ.)

People still surprise me. How can you rush in front of a driving school car? Instead, give a good example. They do it as it should be done, learn from them!

Dumb question but how do I remember who got here first? I have a hard time telling who got here first.

I'm so confused. You said whoever has no one to the right gets to go but then you say whoever stops first gets to go?

Depending on the particular situation, this is quite practically correct! Traffic is a dynamic course!

I just saw someone have their right of way taken from them THREE TIMES In A Row at the same intersection!


And he wasn't even hesitating. He went to go and wash time, the others drivers just went through. He stopped 3 times as to avoid collisions.

Seems like they should just always just choose one road to go straight through and one road to have stop signs. Would save money on signs too

The pedestrian scenario was exactly the question I had.

Right near my house I have a 4 way, but when you stop, there's more than enough room for people to also turn right at the same time. This sparks SOO much confusion between all the people who don't live here for some reason. Today I had a guy following behind me for a good 3 miles, all the way up to the 4 way. I could tell this guy was just raging in his car or was just an aggressive driver by the way he was driving. When we got to the 4 way near my house there was someone in front of me, then me, then they angry guy. The guy in front of me goes, while I'm pulling up to the stop sign this guy starts to go to the right of me like he was about to turn right. So it's now my turn to go after I waited my turn. This dipshit then proceeds to step on it, and go around me while I start to roll out into the intersection. I'm a bit of a road rager myself so I flipped him off for a good half a mile before he turned. This happened 8 hours ago now and I'm still mad about it.

That blind spot was really scary!

Priorities at an all way stop:
Who arrives first, or who is on the right, has priority/ You can also see it as what car has nobody on their right has priority.
4 way stop having people arrive all at the same time means nobody in particular has priority, so communicate among each other who has it with hand signals.
if someone has to wait for something blocking them, but whats blocking them is not blocking you, and you have the time to go before the block gets out of there way, you dont need to wait, then you can go.
Look out for people who look like they arent going to stop at a stop sign or give you priority before going so you know to stop.

I just want to say I really appreciate your driving videos. I've been watching them a lot since I didn't pass my driving test and they've been helping me so much. I feel way more prepared than I ever did for my first test and I can say with confidence I'll pass this time.

Everybody has to stop at the 4 way stops.

I was in four way stop, I stopped, and it was my turn to go, but a car on my far left coming down take the left turn and we collided and the other car flipped upside down.
The police said they couldn’t tell who’s fault it was, let our insurance decide.
