Excellent job Dave, good carnage too! 🐦💙
ОтветитьSecond
ОтветитьI'm not really sure about your order of operations here.
To me, if you want the most back buds, your tree needs to have as much energy as it can have. Cutting the roots after such a big cutback is possibly counter productive.
I would have either repotted first and giving the airlayer more time to take, because the calus means its still working on roots. Or chop the airlayer and up pot the tree for a year and repot the year after that.
Really nice start with that trunk :-)
ОтветитьI am layering one similarly thick hibiscus. I has produced roots now, but it took more than 6 months and I had to open to scratch the callus several times. I am not sure why it took some long.
ОтветитьNearly looks like Jesus’s crown of thorns minus the thorns that rootball
ОтветитьIt might be interesting if you discussed / showed your soil recycling process. Im also curious about the negatives about volcanic rock....🤔
ОтветитьGreat video Dave . Nigel Saunders eat your heart out on that roof work, 😂 love it Dave
ОтветитьYou have a typo. It’s hibiscus not hybiscus.
ОтветитьMajor work on that tree Dave. I know it will do well. Please update us on the cuttings. I’m very curious to see if they take.
ОтветитьOh-ho-ho…that was some fantastic root work, good sir. I was diggin it!
I don’t doubt your decision, but curious on the thought process of a mid-year repot. Just treating it like a tropical?
ОтветитьShame about the airlayer Dave but i like how you are looking to the future. Enjoy your holiday :)
ОтветитьIt will produce new shoots. Mine was completely without leaves all winter and spring. I cut it down to about 1 1/2” from ground level. Watered it and placed in full sun. It started to back bud last month. Just be patient with it.
ОтветитьNice root system. Dr. Dave, chief surgeon in operating room 3, doing root surgery and repotting. Students bring pencil and paper to take notes.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial!
Ответить❤ Wow!
