One of my 2 cats (twin sisters) is a Calico while the other has Tabby coat.
Funnily the are a mix between British Short-hair and Norwegian Forest Cat.

I recently got a kitten for the family. We had no idea about cats prior and just visited the local PetSmart. We found our girl with her 6 brothers. We immediately fell in love with her and took home. We had no idea she was a calico . She’s so loving, cute, playful. She’s spoiled and have two homes (mine and my parents). She adapted really well and is very well trained. Only regret to this day is we shouldn’t taken one of her brothers as well so she could bond and play. But we love her! ❤

There is an Egyptian tomb showing a tabby cat sitting under the chair of the deceased . I believe the tomb is for an overseer. It’s not a tomb for a king or queen. The painting is very charming.

I had a calico named Sugar (1985-1998). While she was our family pet, she loved me best. She was so awesome--unique looking, two tan and one black patch on her head with a tan and black colored tail, the rest of her hair white. She was very affectionate and loving---a purring happy cat. I so miss her!

I had a male Calico I called him Snickers someone stole him... I know it was my neighbor... Also a Cousin.. I still have Calico... occasionally an American breed will be born The great great great grandma cat was turtle most every litter there have been a turtle..white, black, yellow, tricolor calico, occasionally...for some odd 20 year's....They are awesome 😎 My oldest female has disappeared she was over 20 year's, she left me a turtle that is mirror image... I call her Boots 2... She is turtle but has tan boots as her mother did...

I was never a "cat person" until I was 69 years old and my calico "Frieda" adopted me. No going back.

We take in special needs cats for life. We have 11 now. One is a calico born with only front legs. Tiny useless stumps on rear. She learned to walk and run on 2. When she runs she brings her rear straight up so she’s lined up center of gravity. She also gets up on beds, furniture by sitting on rear and pulling up and over with her front legs so she has Uber strong abdominal muscles. She’s 3. We know in time with age she will have many more issues with back and spine and need a lot help. Just unbelievable how she self learned to walk on 2 just carrying her rear up. Sometimes in the litter box she gets some on her rear nubs and she will spend lot time cleaning them. Like I say all our cats are considered not adoptable for whatever reason. With her nobody wanted the down the line expenses with likely issues. We already have and accommodate cats with such needs in our setup here.
