As some have pointed out I forgot to include Fujifilm lenses to my list. That was by mistake, and there are fuji lenses that are suitable for astro. Instead of taking down the video and re-uploading it with those lenses I will add them here and on the article found on my website.
Here are three native Fuji lenses that are suitable for astro:
Fujifilm XF 14mm f2.8 R
Fujifilm XF 18mm f2.0 R
Fujifilm XF 23mm f1.4 R
All the DSLR-mounted APS-C lenses can also be adapted for Fuji along with the DSLR-mounted full-frame lenses.
Some have also asked for Pentax lenses, and I will add those to my website article.
Is it ok to use Sony20mm / 1.8 G on Sony APS-C for astro? Or would you suggest to stick to Rokinon/Samyang options?
Ответитьis the sigma 20mm dn f1.4 good for astro?
Ответитьhi , what are you thinking about Samyang 18mm 2.8 for astrophotography?
ОтветитьI was hoping the Nikon 10.5mm F2.8 fisheye would make your list.
ОтветитьFantastic overview!
Ответить7artisans 28mm f1.4 doesn't have a sony e mount option as far as I can see (there is a Leica m mount option)
ОтветитьThese are great, but time for an update please
ОтветитьWhat about voigtlander lenses? Apo lanthar 35, 65? Heliar 15mm?
Ответитьgreat work
ОтветитьHey mate, you webpage is not working - is everything alright? your page was an amazing source of information! I hope it comes back one day!
ОтветитьSony 14mm 1.8 GM and Sony 24mm 1.4 GM
ОтветитьHow would you rate the sigma 16mm f1.4 in comparison to the tokina 20mm f2?
ОтветитьI’m so curious what would you say about the new Sigma 35mm DG DN lens on a Sony camera. Great video, I think it helps many people to choose wisely. Thanks!
ОтветитьVery usefull video. Thanks. 🙂
ОтветитьWIDE Sony FE 12-24mm f2.8 GM & Sony FE 14mm f1.8 GM
ОтветитьThanks man👍
Ответитьthanks for sharing your experience and opinion, I would like you to help me, I currently own a sigma 16mm 1.4 and I have the possibility to buy used a sony FE12-24 mm F4g, is it recommendable for astrophotography or better the rokinon 24mm F1.8, Thanks for the help, greetings.🤝🙂
ОтветитьCanon 135l f2
ОтветитьCan you update with the Sony 14mm f1.8 G-Master?
ОтветитьI think it is time for another update to this video. I need a new lens, possibly two after watching this. I'm shooting A7Rii with Sigma 24/1.4 HSM Art, A6500 with Rokinon 12/2. I recently added an A9ii to the family so I'd like to add another FF astro lens to the family as well. Since this video came out ........Sigma 14-24/2,8 DG DN Art (DN signifies mirrorless), Sigma 20/1.4 DG DN Art, Sigma 24/1.4 DG DN Art, Sony 12-24/2.8 and the one I'm leaning hardest toward the Sony 14/1.8. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Ответитьhallo. canon RF 16 mm?
ОтветитьWhat about the 24-70 Nikkor 2.8? Trying to decide between that or tamron 24-70mm 2.8. Wanted a mid range zoom for my Nikon d750. Thanks
ОтветитьThis vid will NEVER get the respect it deserves thank God I found this😂
ОтветитьIt would be awesome if you can make a comparison of the best cameras too. As a lot of them has terrible low light performance
ОтветитьSo helpful! Thanks a lot!
ОтветитьThe Tamron wide angle lens you suggested, is it this one?
SP 35mm F/1.4 Di USD
Hello, I'm sorry for my English, I'm looking to see if I bought the "Sigma 20mm 1.4 ART" I have a "canon 6d mark ii", and I didn't understand exactly when you indicated that it is not recommended to buy it, if we don't have any accessories?
ОтветитьGood video 👍🏼 Any though on the Sigma 16mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary?
ОтветитьGreat video! I would love to see the Viltrox 20mm 1.8 manual focus opinions in this list.
ОтветитьHave you tried the TTartisan 7.5mm F2.0 MF APS-C lens?
ОтветитьIs the website down? I can't access it.
Greetings.
Question is the Nikon 55 - 300 good
ОтветитьAwesome review, thank you for making this video. Do you (or anyone reading this comment) have an opinion on the canon RF 15-35mm 2.8 lense for astro? we have a canon EF 35mm mk2 so I will try that too but just asking about the 15-35 as it's not in the video. TIA
ОтветитьOnly wide angle lenses in this review really limits your targets.
ОтветитьI have a Sigma 85mm f1.4 and a 18-35 1.8 for my Canon EOS R. Is that good enough for astrophotography?
ОтветитьAstrophotgraphy: when ''budget'' is still over $700 for a lens on its own.
ОтветитьThank you very much.
Ответитьabout to snipe a 40mm f/1.4 art on eBay since I saw great reviews and apparently it can just be used wide open lol. the 24mm rokinon 1.4 I got off amazon was a gem. I must've gotten lucky because it's SO sharp with ZERO CA, coma, astigmatism at f/2.8 on a tracker. really good value
Ответитьwhy not compare tele lenses ;-)
ОтветитьYou obviously know your stuff, but I have seen loads of good Astro images with the old F mount Nikon 14-24mm. Anyway, could you test the new Z version sometime, please?
Ответитьgreat video, thank you. Maybe someone else has already posted this question: why not including the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8mm f/1.8 Fisheye Pro that I own and use for milky way photography?
ОтветитьWow very informative! Awesome video, I’m looking into the tamron zoom 15-30 2.8f for real estate and also Astro. How does it do at 20-24mm?
Ответитьhaha i tried starting with f4. simply impossible
ОтветитьCan not get to your website when I click your links below... it says Domain Expired. Do you have an updated website ?
Ответитьa job at NASA!!, you can just astrophoto direct from ISS
ОтветитьI own the tamron 28 75 g2
ОтветитьHey Bro, not sure if you would see this comment considering it’s such an old but gold video! In the hopes that you do see this comment can you give me your thoughts on the new Samyang/Rokinon 24mm AF f1.8mm that’s being marketed towards Astro specifically by the company itself.
Ответитьwhat about the Canon 24mm 1.2?
