Okinawan jujitsu would be Z class, bruh. Your Asian pal has not a clue.
Ответитьaikido F-
ОтветитьMy good friend, its called hikite. Its when you snap you strikes back
ОтветитьBest for streets is judo and kickboxing
Ответить😂
ОтветитьI know nothing about martial arts or fighting but I'm stunned with how "heady" all this knowledge is. These guys are talking about martial art styles as if it's science. I'm amazed.
ОтветитьBullshit the final of the video. Knowing only one art martial = BJJ better by test.
ОтветитьSambo not S is criminal
ОтветитьJeff actually knows his stuff and also isn't pretending or making assumptions with the ones he doesn't. Finally, a ranking list I (kind of) agree with. Also didnt he win the self-defence championship?
ОтветитьIf I could say 1 thing about Karate, I think it's the perfect beginner martial art for anyone to get into. It's widely known, so you probably have some decent dojos near you. It's very well rounded, and most importantly it gives you a tremendous base for martial arts. I started Karate when I was young, and even though I only made it to a brown belt. Later in life when I explored more martial arts, I felt I had a really solid base for almost every technique taught to me.
ОтветитьThis is the best list I've seen online thus far! I still think that TKD could get a little more love as the art that can generate the most power per pound, but if you are not training it well (pressure testing, punches to the face etc), and it is not paired with anything else, you can most certainly get in a lot of trouble.
As much as I love Wing Chun, his assessment on it is pretty fair, though it certainly acts a concealed blade when paired with Boxing and especially BJJ.
He doesn’t know what he is talking about
ОтветитьActually Taekwondo guys learn to block and protect their face at white belt level. It's the fundamentals. But for those in the sports where they are just trying to do tricky kicks to get scores, they don't put their arms up because they don't really stop the opponent from scoring but getting in the way of your kicks.
ОтветитьWing chun is not allowed in MMA, you cant gouge eyes, punch throat, kick nuts, bang the cervical spine, meaning you can't kill the other fighter on MMA. Anyone who seen wing chun in person knows how violent and fast is, fights on MMA would last less than 5 seconds. While if youre gonna do sports in the streets you might die.
ОтветитьI think rugby should be in there, it is basically one big man fight over a ball. The toughest sportsman ever
Ответитьi do karate but it feels more like a safer version of muay thai. I think I do kumite or kyokushin.
ОтветитьI don't get why ninjutsu got such a low rating. After all, ninjutsu is the form of sabotaging, assassination and stealth.
ОтветитьI would put bjj at b tier since if there is street fight and your the floor your likely get stomped bjj is still good in grappling control but once your in the floor it isn’t a good martial art for it
ОтветитьAikido is 'C' Tier?! The only way I can think of it being anything above 'D' is if one knows another Martial Art and incorporates some Aikido concepts. Pure Aikido, low tier
ОтветитьI think Boxing is a little high because many people know how to tackle or hold on to people even if they don’t have any experience. Plus a lot of people fight dirty so I think they’re ill-equipped for handling knee to the nuts or basic elbow or headbutt even without much training.
Ответитьbro doesnt know any of those if they are effek tive or not in a street fight like karate or teakwondo i go teakwondo and i can defend myself effektive
ОтветитьI've done many different martial arts my entire life, my main one being Taekwondo. It's a great martial art both for fun and self defense. The reason why people think it is a bad self defense martial art is because everyone is trained differently, and an even mix of real street self defense and traditional Taekwondo is almost never taught. I was personally taught an even mix of both, and I have gone against many different martial artists, each fight leading to a fair battle ground no matter what martial art they did. Taekwondo is extremely underrated and hated nowadays, even by people who have never taken it. It is not justified to hate on it and never will be. Keep in mind that if you ever took physics, there are different types of energy transfers, collisions, and power. People always say that some martial art has more "power" than the other, but they literally never keep in mind that there are different types of power, energy transfers, and collisions, as mentioned above. Every martial art is unique and powerful in their own way, and like wise people say, "It is the level of the practitioner, not the martial art that makes one successful [both in a fight and in their separate martial art traditions]." I would assume this video was just made for fun, but it's never logical to order/rank martial arts since not only are the people ranking it biased towards a martial art 100% of the time, the people ranking them have never taken all the martial arts they are talking about. Quality over quantity. It doesn't matter if you've taken martial arts for 100 years; it's always the level of the practitioner.
ОтветитьCombat sambo is litteraly mma with a gi on. Fedor, Kkabib, Islam, Ankalaev, Zabit.. they're all elite Sambo and mma practitonners.
ОтветитьJapanese jujitsu should be higher, it’s the umbrella for BJJ, judo etc and also accounts for knife strikes and multiple attackers.
ОтветитьBesides BJJ being so effective, Gracie’s dominated early UFCs too cause some of the rules favored them, just sayin 🤷🏻♂️
ОтветитьThis is relevant when it's 1 on 1. At times, you have to fight several people at the same time, let's say 2-3 drunkers, which renders bjj and wrestling almost useless. In my opinion, kick-boxing, Muay Thai, combat-sambo and boxing are A++ for street fights when more than one opponent is involved. If you add judo to it, you become even more dangerous as you may throw some of them on the ground without going to the ground. For MMA in a cage with all their rules, I think combat-sambo is at the top of the list as it combines kicks, punches, throws and grappling (see Khabib, Makhachev, etc).
ОтветитьNo hapkido:(
ОтветитьTook hapkido for 2yrs made blue belt and went to an open mat at bjj school and not a single bjj black belt could lock anything in on me… thats when i saw bjj as bullshido
ОтветитьKarate background transitioning into some BJJ and Muay Thai. I still perfer the way the agility feels with Karate + overall it feels healthier for the joints than other styles. If I had the time and money though I would be doing the Jeff Chan route of integrating way more to basically become a complete fighter. Missing out on a lot not doing judo or wrestling etc
ОтветитьJeff is the man speaking the real truth about what's more practical in a street fight and MMA. Jeff was pretty generous giving Aikido a C which he ranked next to Systema
ОтветитьThere is a bunch of successful karate practitioners in mma: Stephen Thompson, Frank Mir, George St. Pierre, Robert Whittaker, Lyoto Machida just to name a few. Karate is well rounded and has a great understanding of distance and biomechanics. In my opinion karate is up there with jujitsu and even Thai boxing.
ОтветитьIt doesn’t make sense to have judo before traditional jujitsu. Judo is just the sport version of jujitsu, it’s basically jujitsu stripped down, where they have taken away striking and dangerous submissions. Judo is a handicapped version of jujitsu.
ОтветитьShorinji Kempo?
ОтветитьThis is fairly inaccurate. Ju jitsu and wrestling is not for the street fight. Boxing is #1 because you must stay on your feet. When you go to the ground in the street your risking too much, now being comfortable on the ground is good but much more beneficial in the ring
ОтветитьWhat do you think of french boxing ?
Ответитьway too fast, combined both street AND MMA one right after the other is confusing.
Ответитьthats pretty sad about jpaneese jiu jitsu because i like it a lot
ОтветитьDidn’t ufc1 prove that bjj beats boxers very easily in a street fight?
I trained kick-boxing and boxing since I was a child but even I’ll admit BJJ is the far superior sport when it comes to street fighting
Instantly lost interest in this tier lost after seeing BJJ below boxing
lithuanian fella
Ответитьwhat is the difference bw MMA and muay Thai?
ОтветитьAikido A- or B? this list is very stupid
ОтветитьAs a F tier Ninjutsu practioner I’m owning my Journey, Jeff is showing both a lack of respect (a martial virtue) and a lack of critical thinking, BJJ is just another branch on the same tree.
ОтветитьI feel like two things are kind of ignored with a lot of these videos on the street fight angle. The first one is the average fight is 3-7 seconds between when the first and last punch is thrown and most scenarios you will never be able to throw these flashy high kicks, grapple, or any other super technical maneuvering. Defenses against strikes are paramount along with footwork and stability, and I think most serious martial arts teach those fundamentals pretty well. The other thing is going to the ground on the street sucks. Judo is probably super effective to send your opponent to the ground but my Krav gym actually practices ground work on concrete and you want to avoid going there as much as possible. Any technique that avoids getting thrown, head locked, or choked is super important. Another thing you must train if you want to maximize effectiveness in a street fight is dealing with multiple attackers. You can put someone in a clinch but it doesn’t do any good if you have that dudes buddy wailing on you from behind. Overall, I see martial arts as a secondary tool to deal with these situations. More important skills are situational awareness, deescalation, and being able to talk to the police in the event shit does hit the fan. Very few gyms teach any of those effectively.
ОтветитьKIMURA
Ответить10 minutes he mentions that he’s trying to learn from everything! & I think that’s the best frame of mind to have , leave no stone unturned so your at least somewhat ready for anything
ОтветитьJudo is S tier. The over-commitment comment is not based on the art itself. It’s based on the person. Judo has newaza, so what he’s saying isn’t necessarily true. People who actually train judo know that you always transition to the ground in case the throw is not an ippon.
Ответитьneat idea for a video, but could've done a whole lot better with graphics/the way the various grades were displayed
ОтветитьAin't no way this man put boxing above Kickboxing 💀💀💀
Ответить
