What should the next “Every Inaccuracy” video be?
ОтветитьI hate how you pronounce every single name. Character and location alike.
Correct spelling of names: Oden, Tor, Loke, Siv, Hel, Ymer, Surt, Mimer, Vaner, Asgård... As a swede it is so frustrating to hear how badly americans try to pronounce these names. No more so than Asgård, which is pronounced Awes-gourd, not Ass-guard.
Also, there is no Helheim. It is simply called Hel, just its ruler, and is actually where christians stole the udea if their version of Hell when they came up north and began christening the vikings about 1200 years ago.
"In the myths he is actually married to Sif" in the direct-to-video movie Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow, Thor and Sif's daughter lives on Earth with the other children of the Avengers
ОтветитьBro GOW ragnarok actually is more accurate then thor I'm surprised.
Ответитьso much to say before you can even say it.
Well, I think love and blunder was bad, regardless of the real world lore and history about these gods.
I mean, they're casting some nobody to be Hercules in the next one, sorry, not a nobody, but a bloody wannabe comedian.
Hercules, a comedian!
Waititi or whatever his name is has completely Warner Bros cartoonified the MCU's Thor, it feels like a bugs bunny cartoon, it even plays out like one.
Also, Odin's multi legged horse is one of Loki's kids. Loki as a mother that is.
Loki transgendered himself into a mare to let himself get mounted by a male horse, and gave birth to Odin's Mount.
History.
you are only thinking one-dimensional With the multi verseThese things could have happened In another universe
ОтветитьWhy was the extra even gers scene in German?
ОтветитьI've always loved the fact that Mythology Thor was ginger.
ОтветитьI thought it wasn't exactly known which nine realms the nine realms refer to. There's actually 11 different names, and it's hard to place them because Norse prose had all those lovely kennings to make things confusing.
ОтветитьGreat video.
Marvel took some Norse names and throw them in at random without a care.
Yeah, the Norse in Marvel and given I'm quite knowledgeable about Norse Mythology is a reason I can't enjoy movies, especially one's like Thor because it just ignore any and all lore behind the actual mythology or lore.
You've put to words what I agonize over when watching movies like this. I thank you, good sir.
I found the choice of making Heimdall black to be a reference to him being the father of humanity and humans having originated in Africa
ОтветитьPoor Baldr.
ОтветитьLoki was also Thor's uncle.
Ответитьbut at least the multiverse exists in marvel and there is probably a universe where there is no mythical inaccuracies 💀
ОтветитьVolstag is in norce myt
ОтветитьBreath of a fish, noise of a cat, beard of a woman…
ОтветитьHave we ever seen a universe/reality in the comics that was at all lore accurate?
Ответитьin thor you don't really see how odin loses the eye! if you know the mythology you can very well assume that he gained the knowledge during the war by giving his eye and there by gaining the knowledge to defeat the frost giants!
ОтветитьWeaponizing the giant incinerating properties kinda would have made sense though.
ОтветитьThat's the difference between "mythology" and "living religions".
Nobody complains about a story based on christian mythology for adapting to something akin to more modern, (at least pseudo) scientific cosmology instead of insisting on them showing biblically accurate geo centric cosmology.
I seem to remember that Sif (who of course was Thor's wife) had an affair with Loki behind his back.
ОтветитьUm, and I might be wrong, but isn't "Loki did not think this through" sum up a lot of issues in Norse mythology? Seems like it fits the whole "Loki didn't think to have them swear on Gunginir"
ОтветитьWorst thing from mythology they left out of the films: that Thor's hammer gets bigger when he rubs it.
ОтветитьThis might be shocking but New York actually wasn’t in Norse mythology
ОтветитьYes let’s gooooooooo finally I have been waiting it is a good movie but most of it is not accurate
ОтветитьThis is amazing i love the eyue bit near the start
ОтветитьDon't the two goats come in Thor: Love and Thunder as the two who guide the ship?
ОтветитьHiemdall gonna have shit dps
ОтветитьMy biggest issue IS THAT THEY HAVE BRITISH ACCENTS INSTEAD OF NORSE
ОтветитьThere's this story about Ragnarok that happens in the Comics & it explains that the Asgardians have experienced Ragnarok 7 times & during one of those times Thor actually had red hair.
Ответитьthe mythology guy is laterally just a living ☝🏻🤓
ОтветитьI'm pretty sure this movie was more focused on ripping off The Lion King than being accurate to the source material
ОтветитьFunny that you bring up a chariot with two goats and don't mention Thor Love and Thunder lol
ОтветитьNever knew someone else was as crazy as Mattpat
ОтветитьAs to the disparities between the movie and myths lets face it if you went to say sentinel island and flicked a bic lighter they would think you were a fire god who created fire from your hands as they say in the movie and stated by many people elsewhere magic is just technology we do not understand.
ОтветитьWell while i'm total against who they got to play Cleopatra in that travesty of a Netflix show (and god don't have gal Gadot play her either, that would be insulting, even though she is awesome) I have no problem with Idris Elba Playing Heimdell he rocks the roll and it is fantasy and not based on a real person or even being tried to be pushed as a documentary now if the Netflix Cleopatra was advertised as a fantasy reimagining they could have had a dude playing him for all I care.
ОтветитьPersonally, im a Norse Pagan, but i dont mind the re-imagining.
I like to think of it kind of like Stargate. Stargate makes all the "gods" of human kind into advanced alien races with high tech.
I dont mind the adaptation.
You should mention every Norse mythology inaccuracy in god of war 4 next
ОтветитьI loved Norse, Greek, Egyptian and Roman mythology stories. But learning other mythologies, seems cool to hear. Plus, Thor should have been married to Lady Sif from the beginning.
Ответитьi want you to do this for the comics too.
ОтветитьVikings were famously a very peaceful people didn't you know? Its not like the main thing they're known for is raiding and pillaging or anything.
ОтветитьBecause it is not Norse mythology but comics 😂
ОтветитьComics and mythology 😅 diff
ОтветитьGuy: "Thor should be red-haired"
Guy: "Sif should be blonde"
'Heimdall appears'
Guy: "(Don't be canceled, Don't be cancled!)"
I Love the memes that he includes in random scenes.
Ответитьreally tho why tf do they call him a demigod in the avengers? its not like either of his parents are human in the movies anyway its like they forgot what the term meant. hell even if you wanted to say he is because half giant he clearly isnt in this
ОтветитьThe chareit that the goats pull Thor on is in love and thunder
Ответить
