Why is Rebecca just fantastic…
ОтветитьSaying sub is the best when you can’t speak Japanese is a new type of stupid
Ответитьenglish dub is cringe af as usual.
ОтветитьThis Japanese dub is so much better for me. I couldn’t stand Rebecca’s Eng dub voice throughout the series. I’ll definitely watch the Eng sub now.
ОтветитьDunno, even though the dub fits in better with the environment, the Japanese voice acting is.... more convincing. Rebecca sounds unhinged, and the final "Mata ne, Davido" is just fucking cute.
ОтветитьEnglish so much better godamn
ОтветитьJfc the sub doesn't even match what the JP audio is saying.
ОтветитьFor me, the dub actors for side characters were amazing but God, David and Lucy sound inherently bad in dub, David sounds like your average White guy despite the fact he is a Latino. Kenn and Aoi Yuki, the Japanese VAs for David and Lucy were far better than the dub, in fact, in Japanese, David actually uses a slightly different accent of Japanese to specify his Latino heritage and canonically, both David and Lucy can speak Japanese in the world of Night City because David studied in a school run by Arasaka, so they must definitely teach Japanese and was quite a good student and Lucy being half Japanese and created in an Arasaka Lab.
ОтветитьJapanese Speaking Rebecca is just Cute. I like the Japanese one better
ОтветитьRebecca is cyborg version of Hiyori Sarugaki
ОтветитьGoing solely off this clip, the dub sounds too much like they're trying to read individual lines like a cool cat from Night City would say it, as opposed to one seamless interaction. Like I can almost see the VAs in the booth when listening to their lines in dub whereas I feel more immersed with sub, like they're actual animated characters. Both performances are over the top and punchy, fitting on paper for these vibrant, edgy characters in a cyberpunk vibe, but where the Japanese sounds in line with the animation itself, almost like they were developed for each other, the dub sounds much more like normal people trying to sound like what these characters might going off of a character description. Haven't heard enough of the rest of the sub to tell if it stays that way.
Ответитьdub 🤷🏾♂️
ОтветитьI think when it comes to anime I prefer to listen to sub but since cyberpunk takes place in north america the english dub would be more fitting
ОтветитьRebecca completely carried dub for me. You can even tell, in the last episode for example, characters put way more emotion into the voice acting in sub
Ответитьi think rebecca is the only good dub actor for this show imo
Ответитьi'll watch it in English regardless of anything because it takes place in Night City , therefore, English would be more authentic, but Japanese sounds amazing.
ОтветитьWhat's great is that there's so many little details that you wouldn't normally notice unless you go back and watch it again, like Rebecca's pistol being the Omaha tech pistol, which fired a burst of rounds rather than just the one.
ОтветитьRebecca's voice is the only reason I'm watching the English dub.
ОтветитьI usually always go for the subs, and as someone who hasn't played the game I don't care if I'm missing out on the "slang", so of course I started watching it in Japanese with eng sub. Unfortunately the subtitles downright suck, not because the translation is bad, but because it isn't a translation at all, but merely the subtitles of the English dub script. This frequently doesn't match with the Japanese voice audio (eg, subtitle line disappears but Japanese voice actor is still speaking, or a long line is shown but only a few Japanese words are said, that kind of stuff). It's almost unwatchable as I have to pause often to read the subtitles because the mismatch of the voice and subtitle lines are so bad. This is especially bad for someone very use to watching anime in subs and having a rudimentary understanding of the flow of Japanese, and thus having picked up the skill of listening and reading together to understand what's being said (instead of just solely reading).
ОтветитьDub is superior than sub because of this one phrase.
Choom.
I think they must've recorded in english first, the Japanese lip lock is all off.
Ответитьit's probably because I watched the whole thing in dub, but the sub sounds awful to me.
ОтветитьDub has Gustavo Fring, McCree and Hanzo. Sub off the top of my head has Okuyasu. There's a clear winner in this 😂
Ответитьthe dub is so much better they dont even use slang on the sub, its like arasaka colonized the anime
ОтветитьIdc what anyone says, the way the japanese VAs vocalize just sounds more natural to me compared to the english VAs. With english VAs i can always hear the way theyre altering their voice and intonations, whereas with the jap VAs it just sounds natural by comparison, you could probably chalk it up to me not having a familiarity with the language though.
ОтветитьAs a Japanese person, Japanese rebecca is my favorite.
ОтветитьCan anyone find the soundtrack used in this scene?
ОтветитьI guess the even in an alternate universe Okuyasu still gets Za Hando lol
ОтветитьWatched the entire show in dub bcs it’s alot better imo, but I never noticed that pilar was played by Okuyasu! Jojo and cyberpunk 2077 are the only animes I’ve watched(i watched the jojos in sub!)
ОтветитьEng Dub suits this anime
ОтветитьI like how everyone is saying the dub is better when this is the first anime I've watched in sub lmao. I actually liked it a lot in sub and now the dub sounds weird to me lmao . All relativity I guess.
ОтветитьAs a person who watched 100s of anime, Sub still seems like the better more natural experience. But I'm willing to chalk that up to being that anime will always sound weird to me in English. My exceptions include crap like dragonballz's Goku...
ОтветитьDub is so much better, as usual for anime by trigger
ОтветитьThose can't be the real subs. There are entire wrong words that make lines nonsensical, plus misspellings of cyberpunk-specific slang which would only confuse someone who's not already familiar with this world. I can't fathom how anyone could prefer the sub, especially when it's clearly not even good on this one. Not to mention the great English performances anyway
ОтветитьThe reason why dub is better because the swear words
Idk if the sub actually swears in japanese, but even if they do, i just can't get the vibe of it
I always watch anime in sub, but for this I think dub personally takes the cake especially if you play the game the experience is more immersive. The sub and dub VA’s both did an amazing job tho
ОтветитьI have always preferred sub, always, but this will be my one and only exception when I think dub was better
ОтветитьNahh, I love sub, as an anime . Her voice is more annoying in eglishb
Ответитьsub sounds less over-acted to me sounds better
ОтветитьYeah I have to agree, dubbed is 10x better then the subbed. Its one of those few animes where the dubbed just works better with the vibe and setting. Plus all the slang matches in dubbed, Rebecca just sounds what I expected her to in this anime.
ОтветитьI always prefer sub over dub in animes but to fully connect with the game, you should watch it in dub
ОтветитьOkuyasu?
ОтветитьThe Sub don't hit the same for an english speaker. Dubs are definitely easier to get the nuance in the lines
