the fact this contains part of the yanxia leitmotif is heartbreaking once you know the song names
Yanxia Day - A Father's Pride
Yanxia Night - A Mother's Pride
Tsukuyomi - Wayward Daughter
I finished the trial yesterday and God was it heartbreaking
Ответитьi love the male chorus so much and when gosetsu jump in to save Tsuyu, i cried
Ответитьanother hint that Yotsuyu was making her final play was the spider lilies. The red spider lily is a symbol for death and inevitable endings in Japanese folklore, she knew she was going to die and wanted the WoL to grant her that. She just wanted to go out on her own terms, and what better way to do that then to make them hate you, to spew venom the way she so easily did before. But you can tell that she half heartedly means them now, it's less vitriolic and more... heartbreaking. Proud until the end, for better or worse.
ОтветитьGod damn. From the very first lines, the pain in the story is made clear
“A flower waiting to be plucked
Each petal a promise torn.”
The sheer magnitude of the betrayal in one’s own parents casting their own out to a life of effectively slavery.
I would have loved to kill the greasy little- and his parents, but I’m glad Yotsuyu got the vengeance and absolution she deserved after all that she went through.
Ответитьi'll grIND YOu under my heel
ОтветитьGosetsu always accepted the Kami’s will no matter what, but the one time he questioned his God was when Yorsuyu died
ОтветитьI love the contrast between the Japanese vocals and the English vocals. It works together quite well
ОтветитьWORM
ОтветитьHow the fuck did this game get away with making me cry about one of the most irredeemably evil characters i’ve ever seen
ОтветитьMoon mommy? Sorry, moon mommy? Sorry, moon mommy? Sorry, moon mommy?
ОтветитьTsuyu deserved a kinder fate.
Ответить"But is too late for me. There can be no redemption. A nightbloom shall flower here, upon the site of my demise."
/kneel
The thing about Final Fantasy is that many of the enemies you face aren't truly evil. Some, like Tsukuyomi, are simply tragic.
ОтветитьThis song and story arc are masterpieces.
ОтветитьI'm not ready for the next Ultimate
ОтветитьGotta Admit the most interesting part of the spider lilies phase is not only the meaning of the spider lily but as pretty and creepy as the flowers are....they are still considered a pest. In some ways you can say that she was seen as a pest, an annoyance to many, a hindrance to all...never truly loved for her beauty a creature meant to die along and unloved. Tho the meaning of spider lily is abandonment, longing, and many more just the mere thought of how they can be viewed as a pest makes the fight even sadder.
ОтветитьI love singing along to this and trying to switch between a really deep voice to a calmer, more serene one whilst switching languages at the same time.
