He’s so humble. His coaching is helping me so much. Never thought I could sing, now I look at it as learning to play my voice as an instrument.

My posture has always been bad due to Scoliosis. I also use a wheelchair. So that doesn't help with my breath support or core strength either. Hoping I can still use these exercises to build both of those things up better.

I remember I watched a TV show called Kenny vs spenny in which spenny went to a vocal coach for the competition. She said " Air is a singer's gasoline " I always remembered that, but I thought back then I couldn't sing. The reason I could sing is I never took my headphones out. Never listened to my own voice. Now people compliment me when I walk down the street. I think with your videos I'm going to get my voice to where it really can go to.

Dunno if it's me, but I overheat from all the intense abdominal control for rock vox. Normal to get sweaty and super hot whilst singing powerful female rock songs??

Very informative Ken! You're much more in depth than I knew. And you are very full of knowledge which I can see is very helpful and valuable for vocalists. And for folks who not financially well off, you're kind enough to share some free knowledge as well. Thank You for that! On another note (specifically guitar notes ha); I see you start & finish at different places on the guitar. Can you please tell me where to start & finish, if I'm between a bariton & first tenor? Would be helpful to not go out of range. Thanks!!

This is a fabulous tip, I am thrilled to have found you, your videos are so helpful. I wish I had found you sooner! I am by no means a trained singer, but I find your techniques and teaching style so helpful. I love to write and I am looking forward to recording my next two songs with your vocal guidance at the helm.

It's so alien to me to use my abs like that! It feels strange! It feels like I'm singing whilst pushing my abs in and out...and it's not actually helping me sing. Comes with practise?

I am glad I watched this because it reminded me of some of the techniques that I had forgotten about from my vocal coach. As you said about being seated has a negative impact on using your abs and core, that is why I use a bar stool when playing my piano. It is compromise between being seated and standing and really helps in using your air properly.

Hey, Ken! Thanks for your tips!! Super helpful. Currently watching this video and doing the exercises at the same time. This is actually my first time officially tuning in to one of your videos. I wanna ask how I can manage to sing high notes that are well-supported or sustained by my breath without feeling an urge to burp or actually burping. I'm super prone to bloating and I need a whole lotta help with the breath work. Also, I used to sing high notes with effortless strength and good breath support before but due to me not singing as consistently as I used to, I lost some vocal strength and whenever I try to sing something now, it seems as if my body has forgotten where to get breath support. I get tired easily singing now because I can feel myself "running" to my throat for support and desperately making myself breathe and get support from my belly. If you see this, what can you recommend I do? Thanks.
