One of the boys in my year always made all the girls uncomfortable.
He was recently convicted of soliciting minors and openly dated 14 year olds in his 20s

Sorta gut feeling moment, I was walking to my mother's car at a Target parking lot after shopping for some things. A guy in a dark car rolled the window down and said his friend wanted to talk to me. right off the bat, hell no. I was maybe 16? I dunno, younger than now and a minor, but a teen, so I already had stranger danger WELL ingrained into my brain. I quickly walked away and didn't respond. turns out that's how kidnappers get people sometimes. They ask you to come over to their car to talk so they can open the car door and shove you inside. sometimes I think about it and wonder what would have happened if I was more naïve...freaks me out to think I might have not survived that day.

When i was a chef, i had a weirdo dishwasher, he barely ever talked and always looked mad. I joked to my coworkers about him being a future school shooter.
His name is Ethan Crumbley from Oxford MI. He killed 4 of his classmates.

CLOSE CALL -
I went for a walk earlier this evening. I am a young woman, I work 12 hour shifts give or take, so although it was getting dark and misty I wanted to take my walk, I’d only be quick. That inner voice was telling me it wasn’t worth it but I ignored that and drove to the moors where I often walk. It’s secluded and there was no sign of people, lights, cars etc. I only went 15 minutes from my car up onto a tor but had the feeling to turn back. I was using my torch but then had the feeling to turn it off as I felt exposed with it. I near my car about 150 yards away and suddenly my gut GROWLS at me. Loud. I had eaten so it wasn’t from hunger. My ears pricked up, hearing the sound of nylon shuffling against itself and I stop to hear if it’s just me. It wasn’t. It’s basically dark and I focus my eyes to the direction of the noise and just make out two dark figures advancing fast towards me. My hairs stand up on end. I quicken my step and get out my keys, close enough to unlock my car and by the time I get in, just without breaking into a run, lock the doors, turn on the lights and start the engine; The head lights expose two figures running off into the darkness.

In two minds at that point to drive away at speed or drive over them with speed. I chose the first. - post note, I was going to wear headphones but again that feeling told me not to. It’s the strict voice in your head telling you “not to have fun” in those situations. Listen to it.

LADIES - LISTEN TO YOUR GUT AND DEEP FEELINGS. Be safe out there and remover you have teeth, claws and FIRE.

My gut feelings are small like I was sitting in the food court part of an airport with my friend cause our 7pm flights had been delayed until 2am. I said “I think we should go sit at the gate” then 10 mins later the gate announced “we have a few seats left on an earlier flight if anyone on a delayed flight wants them” me and her got on the earlier flight while about 300+ people on our original flight weren’t able to

Are stories about not actually having that gut feeling allowed? Cuz I got one.

I think I was in my junior year of highschool and was walking home with my friend and his gf. We were walking 3 wide on a sidewalk that only fit 2 so I chose to take the grass right next to the road. Now we're getting close to a sign that I was going to just slow down for and walk behind my friends instead of split the pole. But I thought to myself 'i dgaf about splitting poles' and was going to just step into the road. But a car was coming. So I didn't step into the road. Here's why this story is weird though. i DID NOT care about the car like AT ALL. The car just didn't register for a reason to not step out to the road. I just... didn't. Under any other circumstance I would have done it. Given how I felt before the car passed and on a day where there wouldn't be a car, 100 times out of 100 I would always go to the street and not even think twice.

So when the car passes us and I'm walking next to my buddies again I start thinking of how I would normally always have stepped in the street because of how it was JUST what I would do and it hit me. I came so stupidly close to killing myself and never would have even known why I did it. So I told my friend "bro, you have no idea how close you just came to watching my get completely obliterated by that truck that just passed us" and the guy laughed. To be fair, I would have too and I think I even did. But jeez was I almost a goner.

I have a lot but the one I think about the most and actively protect myself going forward was my last job I was friends with a girl who just gave me a bad feeling. She was nice to me, showed initiative of my life, and wanted to hang outside of work. My gut kept telling me something was wrong. My gut kept telling me to not trust her, stop talking to her, and distance myself from her. I didn't listen and then found out I was 100 percent correct and she made my life hell for quite awhile.

Regarding the first story, do NOT attempt to induce vomiting yourself. If something goes wrong, your actions can easily lead to the person suffocating or having their throat severely burned as the substance they ingested has interacted with stomach acid.

Just call paramedics or a poison control center asap.

Something similar to the salesman thing happened to me when I was home alone one time, I was 11 and I knew what to do if someone knocked on the door or who to call/where to hide/how to get out of the house, in case of in emergency. Someone rang the doorbell and I shouted “Who is it?” They responded with something like “I’m here with a package I need you to sign for” but my mom had told me before she left no one had a package coming, and I knew no one ordered a surprise for anyone bc it was no where near Christmas or any birthdays. But I decided to go to the door to see if I could catch the guys face. I started recording with my phone somewhat coming out of my pocket so the guy didn’t immediately suspect anything. The conversation went something like this:

“Hello ma’am, is there an adult home?”
“Yeah my dad is taking a nap on the couch right now, he just got home from the gym.”
“Oh (he paused for a moment), well could he come open the door and sign for the package?”
“(I shouted into an empty house) DAD! THERE’S A PACKAGE YOU NEED TO SIGN FOR!”
then we were both quiet for a minute
“He says there’s no packages ordered”
And then the guy left after like 5ish minutes and hasn’t come back to my knowledge.

I woke up when i was 10 and i heard my dad, who i just met the day before, crying in an adjacent room. The moment my eyes opened i started to cry because it immediately registered my mom died. Its been 13 years and i still can see her dead with her eyes open, the direction i was facing when i woke up, the beers my dad drank that night, i can hear him say her name, i can see the snow reflecting the lights of the ambulance, no siren because they arent in a hurry. It's wicked because i have the whole pieriod between figuring shed die and knowing it had happened in full memory. I dont cry over it, but its something ive had to reason with.

My family used to live in an apartment that was up pretty high and in that old apartment our kitchen was right next to my parent's bedroom and that room had a balcony, you could see from the kitchen straight to our balcony. Few years ago when I was still living with my parents I was hanging out in our kitchen and suddenly something told me to look up towards the balcony. One of the balcony window screens had opened somehow and our cat was standing on our grill we kept in the balcony, she was clearly preparing to jump out on the railing on the other side of the balcony windows. I yelled her name and rushed to pick her up before she could jump, I closed the window and later my dad taped it shut so it wouldn't open on it's own anymore. I am still convinced I saved my cat's life that day.

Kind of annoying how almost all these stories are by girls about creepy guys. There are just as many sociopath females and most child molesters are women. Even though most violent offenders are male. Just calling out the cultural bias, don't get triggered.

I know this is super old and no one will read this but I had moved into an apartment with my wife and 1 year old son. Met the handyman after about a week when he came to look at a problem. He was very friendly and nice but there was something about him I didn't like. I couldn't and still can't figure out what it was that made me feel that way about him but it was just an overall feeling of distrust. Told my wife that I didn't want him in the house if I wasn't there and I don't want him around my son. I saw him around a couple times but he never came to our apartment to fix anything and about a year later he just kind of disappeared. Found out some time later that he had been arrested and had to register as a sex offender. Ever since, if I ever have a gut feeling about something, I listen even if it doesn't add up in the moment.

So here's a story. When I was in 7th grade, about 2 years ago, I woke up one day, and felt something was really off. I told my parents that I should really stay home, they send me to school even though I was saying no. Third period comes, and at the end of class the a55hole of the teacher cursed out the whole class because of two rowdy boys. Yeah, so many kids went home during lunch that day... I told my parents on the walk home. Now I stay home whenever I have a really bad feeling about something.

I heard a voice tell me not to go get the next bus wait for the one after, I thought it was odd but i did wait for the next one, the bus I was going to get on was travelling fast up a hill and crashed due to the driver having I think it was reported that he had a heart attack, I went past on the next bus and saw the damage the bus caused, I think either that was a guardian angel or my gut telling me to wait for the next bus, so glad I did wait, everyone was fine, if I remember rightly the driver was also fine after a few days in hospital

I was working in hospital lab, transferred from another department shortly after getting certified.

Initially get along with my new colleagues but then they start giving me the cold shoulder. I have no idea what upset them. I tell the two supervisors, they brush it off. One supervisor is ok. The other, "A" is trying too hard, a bit like the David Brent character in The Office - trying to be friends but also trying to assert himself as a manager.

I give it 3 months, try my best to get along, work hard etc. I notice that I'm not fully trained on all the machines with no plan to get me trained on them. In the back of my mind I know the supervisor A is basically keeping me on the "subs bench" so I can't leave for another company.

One morning I have argument with one of my colleagues. She is constantly salty. I ask directly - is there anything I have done to upset you as you are constantly off with me.

She can't give a solid answer. I say that sounds like when me wife replies "fine" when she's not fine. She cuts me off and don't talk much beyond that.

I get fed up working in this situation and move to another hospital. Maybe 6 months later I find out one of the supervisors was feeding the hematology and biochemistry machines with his private work, to the tune of £50,000 in chemicals.

As for the toxic working environment, no idea what the supervisor said but he played the old divide and rule so we were bickering between ourselves instead of noticing his shady dealings.

I had a similar story to the cat one. I had a kitten named cheese (about 6 months old at the time) and i was going to my dads house for the weekend. i told my mom to not under any circumstances let her out of the house, because she was young and i didn’t want her to get lost or taken. and what did my mom do? immediately let her out. we didn’t find her after so we assume either a stranger or a large bird took her.

I've learned by not listening to my gut when I was younger. When one has an uncomfortable feeling about someone or something it's a warning to you that something bad will happen. So I learned to get away from someone who's giving off bad vibes , your feeling scared ! It's a warning ! I was injured in a accident, cause I didn't listen to my gut! Being I was young, we all learn from our mistakes and the mistakes from others.

I had liked someone back in Junior Highschool, thought she was the perfect person because she was smart and top student in our class. But for some reason i had a bad feeling whenever i see her but i can't find the reason why, A few months later one of her "friends" told me that the girl was just copying off them and leeching of the teacher that's why she had good grades.. turns out she was also spreading fake rumors about one of the other girls so she wouldn't surpass her.

She was toxic and i was completely oblivious, stopped liking her then until i met a boy and she started being all touchy with me.. well, i was smart enough to sense that she was just mocking me 🙄

In 1994, I saw the home of a famous singer/songwriter's home burning down to the ground because of a brush fire. There was a crew working nearby carelessly working with small torches which started the fire which spread quickly. I saw this on TV and I believe the segment was shown live as it was a breaking story. I saw the person walking away from the scene and the paparazzi with a smile that resembled anger and hurt. As the news segment ended, I knew in my gut what was going to happen and I cried. They had been alcohol and substance free for over fourteen years, and I said out loud they were going to drink again. I had no proof, only my gut and my feelings. A few years later, the person wrote their autobiography. After the brush fire, I read they moved into a motel room, drinking bottle(s) of red wine, infuriated at what happened to their home as well as the carelessness of the workers who started the fire. Now, the long since retired rock and roll singer/songwriter recently celebrated over twenty three years abstinence from alcohol and mood and mind altering substances.

Two people. My cousin's "girl"friend who was actually just a man with long hair who wanted to get in her pants and ended up being a clingy piece of shit leech. The sah I met him I wanted to be nowhere near him. And then there's number two; My same cousin's best friend. Something is wrong with him. He gives me the creeps and makes my skin feel like it's rippling. I have him. He's been pining after her for years, desperate to get in her pants. She was brainwashed into thinking she was gay. She's since started to realize she's not and has caves into his pushing for a relationship. They're dating, have been for a month, and two weeks in, he "proposed" to her with one of those toy spinny rings. I told her it's a red flag, she tried to shake it off. I kept saying it. He gives me the biggest creeps imaginable. He freaks out HER MOTHER and mine (they're sisters). But he's now living with her in the basement, "engaged" extremely quickly, and getting everything he's been digging for for years. I'm sadly just waiting for the day that he does something. He's massive. Fat and tall and imposing and lurking. He could kill her. And he has no respect for her. Their way of play flirting is to insult one another. He's getting her used to being verbally abused, yet she refuses to see it. Connor, if you're reading this, fuck you. I hope you kill yourself.
