Steps:

Start by opening the threads app and logging into your account.

Now tap your profile icon from the bottom menu.

On your profile page, tap the ‘globe’ icon at the top left of your screen.

The first option in the privacy menu here is to change your profile to private. Simply tap the toggle. A popup will then appear asking you to confirm, tap ‘ok’.

Your Threads profile is now private, only people who you approve will be able to follow you and see your content.
