My favorite video game healer interactions happen in Eve Online. The healer wing can completely fail to save three quarters of the fleet and fail the objective, and fleet commanders will still refuse to even undock the fleet from their home station if they can't get enough healers. Logi is the dom of that relationship.

some bad scenario as a healer is when you were got teamed up with underleveled player, and they barely contribute anything to the team. either you choose to be a good person and help out, or be a villain enough to ignore them so they know how shitty they are.

When I started playing mmorpg way back when I was like what are the most needed classes which always end up tank or healer. I went tank and had my share or good and bad healers over the years. I can say as tank main nothing worse than having healers you can't trust because my god does it make every boss so stressful when you don't know if your healer will heal you properly or not. If you should spend that long cooldown potion or trust your healer to come through.

Why do people choose to be healers when they can be damage dealers? Nothing wrong with that but I don't understand it.

Surely even being a tank must be more enjoyable.

Nothing can beat having super powerful attacks that just destroys all the enemies.

The reason healers do more dps is because they research the game the dps ers and tanks only care about more health and hp but since a healers grind is pretty much just leveling up and getting better spells you start to delwe into what items or quests to get or do in order to be better and eventually you get better dps or health than anyone else

Funny enough my favourite healer character in an anime is so accurate to the MMO healer... her name is Mary from Grimgar... it's always funny when the party is in a pinch and they call for healing and she straight up says "nope" or "it's just a scratch, suck it up and fight better" and they stand there confused

only heal downed teammates, I say. No use in wasting healing above 0 hit points

Gamer tips
Tank: don't stand in bad shit, if it's attacking you then you can ignore it outside of throwing the occcasional AoE - focus on what's not aggro'd to you and use mitigation and/or interrupts against the biggest hits, be mindful of your party's mana levels and don't engage unless they're ready. Finally, don't be afraid to pop your biggest damage mitigation at the start of combat against large groups of adds - they can and at some point will kill you faster than you can react and the fight will get easier the longer it goes on as more of them die. Do all this and if you die it's the healer's fault or the DPS's fault if you hit a boss timer/a good healer goes OOM.

Healer: don't stand in bad shit, if they always stand in the red let them stay dead, keeping tank alive is prio 1, prio 2 is keeping yourself/other healers alive, prio 3 is keeping your resources up, prio 4 is keeping dps alive, don't be afraid to be bossy - if your typing speed sucks then either create macros or create some basic strategies (e.g.spread out, group up on 'x' etc) and agree on certain letters to cut down on typing, remember you're a healer not a dps - don't waste mana on attack spells unless your class synergises damage with healing or you're confident mana isn't an issue. Do all this and if the party wipes it's not your fault.

DPS: don't stand in bad shit, listen to healer, don't drag threat away from the tank unless you're doing it for a damn good reason (if you're finding threat hard to manage, change targets), listen to orders and maintain a dialogue with your healer as they're often in the best position to see when your mistakes but if they know you're at least trying to get better they're less likely to give up on you, if it's not aggro'd to the tank don't attack it - any damage inflicted on you just makes the healer's life harder; try to work out at least 3 different ability rotations - one which focuses on the max amount of burst damage, one which focuses on maximum sustain damage without draining your resources and one for AoE. For extra credit, pay attention to which enemy abilities are the most dangerous and try to interrupt them - bonus points if you coordinate with teammates to agree on a rotation so you don't all waste your CC trying to interrupt the same ability. Do all this and if the party gets wiped it's not your fault.

I was always too busy to talk during raids as a healer. Or hopping around because it was too easy.

While this was on my tank; I think the best complement I ever got about my play style was.

"I don't use any macros. At least none that aren't 'cast spell then say a line of text'."

Had an issue on ESO where the tank kept running ahead finally had enough and told my budy stay next to me and we walked as the other dps and tank was dying
