Ответить@aelmo713 Amen, friend... Amen from another 47 year-old. Formative shit. cheers.
ОтветитьMan, would I ever like to talk with Alex Lifeson, and ask him where he comes up with these amazing guitar melodies that he writes. Those cords/notes he is playing, during "For I have dined on honey dew, and drunk the milk of paradise..." are extremely touching.
Ответить@BSOD4 I kno i was just saying they have a longer song than this since kyleca07 was saying how this is broken up
ОтветитьNeil Pert...Canada's best and greatest export. Thank you Canada, if you never give anything else to the world, you can always say "We gave you Rush" and the whole world will be forever in your debt!
ОтветитьI can sing this song without looking at any lyrics now, I feel proud.
ОтветитьYou know a band is good when they never fail to impress, and Rush are no exeption!
Ответитьgod.. you can see here where dream theater got the inspiration for the intro to trail of tears..
Ответитьone of the best songs i've ever heared
Ответить@aelmo713 Same age, dude. Remember seeing them in Jr./Sr. High School. I think Caress of Steel was the first tour (70's are still a blur ;). They had a lot of songs that didn't fit into the category of "radio friendly" but when they did this song live, EVERYONE in audience was totally rocking! And Thank Ged for Rush, too, while you're at it ;)
ОтветитьI'm 19. I live in a bus. Rush is awesome. That is all.
ОтветитьXAAAAAAAANNNNNAAAAAAADUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!
Ответить@pfg4sbg4e -meditate in the buddist position and concentrate on the highest point in heaven....then listen to the elder race of man tell thee many things you never realized...then do them!!!!!!!!chow...it may not hurt to buy some sitar music from india nad play them on your car stereo and then all your friends will be enlightened too.....
Ответитьeldest-brother-tastic:) "borrowed' this from my big bro when I was a teen & he had discovered New Romantics.... and a glamrock boyfriend "borrowed' it from me....... Not heard it for ... CHrist 23 years ! bloody excellent :)
Ответить@101pete101 Me too! It's going to be epic!
ОтветитьI spent an entire day learning the tabs for this, now I just play the guitar along to it everyday. Such a beautiful masterpiece. What ever happened to real progressive music.
Ответитьreminds me of pinkpop 79 wonderfull
Ответитьreminds me of pinkpop 79 wonderfull
ОтветитьRush > Dream Theater (my opinion)
Ответить@PhilFoxNJ in which song do you think they used it?
Ответить@PhilFoxNJ wow I've never thought about it :P They sound similar, but they have their differences too... Xanadu riff is kind of relaxing, while Sweet child o mine riff is more energetic and heavy. I don't really think they have stolen it, but it may was an influence for them. Sorry for my bad English :P
ОтветитьCHANGED MY LIFE ,WHAT IMPACT.LOVE THE SOUND ON THIS RECORD.
Ответить1:50 - 4:40 WOWWW...
Ответить@Rowdyrecords55 -i unfortunately had turned my dads jumbo outdoor loud speakers up to 2500 watts indoors and played this song- the neigbors called the police and i could not hear them at the front door-so they came into the back patio and scared the shit out of me--"HEY,HEY,-turn DOWN the ^%$#ING MUSIC DUDE!!!my fish bowl was busted on the carpet and my dogs were hiding in the downstair closet-the cops left and had to clean up the SOUND DAMAGE rush had exploded in my house..10,000 watts ouch!
Ответить@PhilFoxNJ -Guns n roses shot too much heroin, cocaine, acid, amphetamine, weed, alcohol and chics................Thats where they got thier riffs dude!! They copy everybody...when they ever come down from partying...they may have original material...best wait until 2019 or so when they stop parting so much!! maybe they should try country and western instead ?or maybe rapp ? or what about beaty bop music ?oh well...another overdose perhaps ....here -snort this rabbit terd dude!!!fer sure dude!
Ответить@1962mikie Haha that is great... I would have loved to hear this masterpiece blasted at that many watts.
Ответить@1962mikie -***UPDATE -After the damage was assesed and the glass was finally all out of my rug i had to explain to my dad why the fish bowl was busted and the why the police called him at his work-he said.."I know what happened -you turned on my outdoor loud speakers like i asked you not to do...Didnt You ? yes sir....and lost three gold fish to rush cygnux-x-1 at God knows what wattage levels--NO MORE SON !!now i am restricted to a bogus little CD player..dude!!i know -earphones -thats it!!
Ответить1:50 - those birds have no idea what's about to hit 'em :)
Ответитьsounds much like The Who.

ОтветитьGawd, do I love the sequeway at 2:52!! Man, I LIVE for that part of this song. Thanks so much for posting this.
ОтветитьI love Rush's simple, made for radio ditties.
ОтветитьThe "Close To the Edge " of Rush!
Ответитьgot dammit, the fricken you tube version of 8-track.
ОтветитьWOW,.. I remember buying this album in 77' and heading home to my Harmon sound system. Rolling up a few and getting in the mood as I replaced the diamond head needle, put on the headphones and cranking up the volume...WOW! Then listend to it again without the headphones, cranked the volume WAY UP and felt the walls vibrating as Dad began pounding on the bedroom door. Yeah, I made him knock the door down...I was too stoned to get up and turn the volume down or open the door. Youth was GREAT!
Ответитьthis song is fucking epic, i can't avoid having my spine chilled everytime i hear it
ОтветитьOMG Ive died and gone to heaven!!
ОтветитьThe world is insane! Lady Gaga has a billion hits and it's garbage! This has 42,000 and it has more artistic integrity in the intro than anything that's been put out in years! Thanks Disney for the international musical DUMMY DOWN!
Ответитьread the poem!! Samuel Taylor Coleridge, "kubla Khan" then read your dreams
ОтветитьThose of us lucky enough to have listened to Rush music have been forever changed, their lyrics are food for the mind, and the music, well, it just heals the soul.
ОтветитьI think this is my favorite Rush song
Ответить@nch09snow No, I'm from Brazil, but I went to their show on São Paulo and it was awesome!
ОтветитьA sort of prog-metal or metal-prog before prog-metal or metal-prog. Great music needs no definition. A great song. That's all.
ОтветитьRush is gay....just kidding Rush kicks ass! Sick!
ОтветитьThis song need not stop.
ОтветитьOne of my top five Rush songs. I love the transitions, melodies, and power roll of it all. Amazing.
ОтветитьI think 'ditto'
Ответить...love RUSH since 1975... rock on
ОтветитьI want the whole album of A Farewell to Kings to be played at my Funeral. I am very serious.
