Do you think that buying today a 3800xt for 150€ is a good deal? Its only for playing Valorant , diablo 3 immortal, Cs go, and World War 3. My main computer is a i7 3820

Do you need a new bios update to support these new cpus?

I want to revert to my old bios as having issues with a 5800x upgrade but won't be able to do that if I buy one that needs update to bios

I got the Ryzen 9 3900XT for $393 USD when Ryzen 9 5900X was of stock in the US since late 2020 and the Ryzen 9 3900X was selling for $474 USD. Tried manual 4.5GHz OC and it was stable.

disappointed by both my 3900xt and my 3090... i expected it to dominate 4k ultra and be semi silent, sad mumbling and cursing

Hi Steve, greetings from Serbia, i recently bought an R5 3600XT (due to lack of everything else on my market when my old i7-960 died), paired it with Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro and 16GB @3,6GHz. With voltage set to 1,21v my chip is scoring 4,4+- 35MHz at temperature that never goes above 64°C with box cooler. Tested with blender and H.265 encoding which i do everyday. Utilizing above 92% of all CPU resources.
After your video i expected to see much higher temps and unstable work, but it's doing perfectly fine.
So i guess you have got, lets say not soo good silicone or AMD polished newest bios and drivers, it's been more than 6 months since realize.
Nice video anyway.
P. S. on my market standard model was 10-15€ cheaper when it was in stock while ther was almost no difference between X and XT models.

intel have the same useless processors, 10500 and 10600 (non K) which is essentially what the 3600x and the 3600xt are to the 3600

Things really have changed since ryzen 5000. Around christmas of 2020, the 3800XT is around the same price as a 5600X, 3900XT is actually cheaper than a 5800X here in Canada. In less than 6 months the XT has essentially replaced the X series in pricing. In the end you have to ask yourself, IPC or sheer number of cores in the AMD stack.

I have a 3400g with a 2060 super and im super cpu bound. With the shortage on next gen chips I picked this one up bc 1. The x models are a lot harder to find right now and 2. Why not buy that extra gain for 350🤷🏻‍♂️can't find a 3800x or 3900x anywhere until late January

I just purchased a 3800XT for $299 and even though I qould have preferred the new 5600X the problem is there are no 5600X and won't be for some time.

I got a 3900XT on sale for $429. No complaints here at that price, though I would not have paid the original MSRP for it.

Giving reviewers golden samples of the original Ryzen 3000 series CPU backfired on AMD with this launch. The 3900XT is just a better binned 3900x. But reviewers already had really good binned 3900x's so they are probably seeing even less performance gains in the reviews than if you were just comparing a retail 3900x to a retail 3900XT.

I know what AMD did here. See, AMD has been the "rational" choice for quite a while now and so had nothing to entice the arrogant fools (you know, the ones who buy Volkswagens and act like they're Maybachs). So, they made something that costs more and makes literally no sense. In this way, they get the arrogant fools who would otherwise have chosen Intel despite Intel being the dumbass' choice today. It's all about marketing to EVERYONE. LOL

The overclocks are generally super good on these chips, and some people will have motherboards that don't support 4000 series ryzen at all! These chips kind of make sense in the way that they will be the sought after CPU:s in a few years since they are the top tier units that fit used motherboards. If you're thinking about extending your rigs life as long as possible, or planning to sell the cpu later on for something better, then these kind of make sense... Just my thoughts...

The whole 3 series was a $100 premium on the 2 series for a '10%increaseburger'. now the used 2 series go for the same price as when new. dont fall for the amd hype, they lost their market lead the last 2 times by being too expensive for what they had. talk about market manipulation, you didntevenseeithappenburger.

Most of you reviwers just missed the point completely with new ryzen 3000 xt series, AMD did not raise the price of xt series compared to original 3000 series, you can still buy the older cpus cheaper they didnt kill those, so in my opinion AMD hasn't done anything unfair here, you get what you pay for and that's all there is to it. It's a great deal for someone who is buying a new cpu now and not worth the upgrade for those already owning a 3000 series. I just don't understand what you expected to be honest, it is not a new CPU generation it's a refresh.

I'm only going with the 3600XT because it's gonna be a temporary solution until I can get my hands on a Ryzen 4000 series chip when they release (it would be too much of a pain to extract the R5 3600 out of my current system and transplant it into the new one)

Personally i couldn't care less about this xt lineup since i already have the 3700x. But what bothers me a little is that they left out the cooler for the bigger models, that makes the whole thing much worse, very very poor value. This is just a quick cash crab imho.

AMD's move seems somehow logical.
They got better yields, so they offered a better quality product for the same or similar price. The "older" products are now cheaper. This is by no mean a "new" product, just equivalent of the mid-cycle facelift in car terms ;)
It is nothing to be excited about, but then it is good that they have done it.

AMD should've just replaced the X chips with XT chips but left them named as X chips. The XT chips certainly don't deserve to be any more expensive. My 3900X goes to 4.4 (just) anyway.

The cost increase from a 3600X to 3600XT is 9%, but the former was already at $200 USD before the prices started to increase. Taking into account their pre-COVID retail prices the new CPUs are an even worse cost per frame buy.
