Thank you! You're right, it's a trend. The market is saturated, almost everything you can imagine is available in 100 flavours. Luckily there are some companies like dawesome, but others like Waves and NI are only working on the most efficient way to diddle their customers.

It's really sad that you have to expend your energies and time on this, but I'm sure we all appreciate your candour, especially given your history with their products.

I used to love Audiomodern as well, have all but 1 of their products (didn't need it) and always loved their products. But this is ridiculous and they should be ashamed.

Always appreciate your honesty. Also terrible of them to slag you in their forums. Pathetic. Like, people can miss the mark, just own it. Misleading folks on purpose though, that's different.

I have been a fan of Playbeat, still is, but something must have happened. Have they been sold, new management?
They really have been getting deserved bad karma on this. I'm glad I have not had time checking it out earlier.

Watched both your videos and I have nothing but respect for you. As a happy user of several of Audiomodern plugins I was ready to buy Soundbox on the day I heard about it. Silly me, I even half-expected „fully unlocked” to mean maybe we get the wav files, LOL.

I can’t say that I faulted them for the model where you have to buy one soundset to get the plugin, which you can then use forever with your own content. At worst it’s 29 euro for a 4-layer sampler with (hopefully) tons of cool features (or, as it turns out, not). To my mind, NI have been pulling worse stunts with Kontakt for no idea how long.

And granted, World Suite has been in development for years; Soundpaint is younger, but then some of their libraries sell for $99, which is already Kontakt-level pricing.

But the unfinished features, the sleazy wording, the laughably stingy soundset that you’re showing here and the ugly reaction from Audiomodern - you’re absolutely right to call them out on all that. Thank you, Dash, I really mean it.

Just like Auditory Labs (Wave Pads) .. they sell it for $48, but there is a weird pro for $78 .. complete scam - Their demos completely fake.

what a bunch of Bast**ds. Dash, how frustrating this should be. I went to their channel and forum, and obviously it would be totally useless to bash them there as they will remove any trace of truth about they assholery. I was about to buy their freezer. Good I didn't. I also kind a stuck in my nose for them regarding this pricing noticing to a user that "developers need to earn a living" but I didn't know this. Of course I deleted it and unsubscribed and disliked and all this little stuff that make us watcher so bad asses.. LOL.. WTH else to do?

I was a big fan of the company until I saw their response to your message. After that, I immediately un-installed all of their software from my machine. Was considering this product until your last video as well. I'm going with Soundpaint instead.

I've bought Kromium and don't feel scammed. Once the Samples are imported, they are unpacked as WAV. The comparison to the World Suite is unfair, imo. I'm a Komplete user and, if I would make a similar calculation with Komplete, wow, sounds so cheap, suddenly, BUT I maybe use 20% of the included soundware, loops, for example, are bloatware to me, which I don't even install.
That said, it is no cheap and Soundpaint is a better competitor with tons of free and cheap instruments. I get that people are disappointed, but scam would at least need a lie, or broken promise.
I'd simply call it a bad deal, but I've got a few sounds out od it, that I will use.

DAmn bro.. i felt the very same. I was intrigued by their seeming innovativity. But under the hood is huge piles of code smell and as a software developer i have the (questionabl) skill in this case to see all the UI concept flaws, the internal variable names of them buttons being shown in toltips (while there are no tooltips) and what not additionally highlighted. Now their reaction onto your video(s) sets facts. I wont be using their tools anymore. My CPU will be very happy about it for sure.

Appreciate your honesty and integrity mate, their response to this entire ordeal is just embarrassing to be honest. Instead of acknowledging their fault and trying to make amends it's YOU who is the problem, bashing a company for a few views. Ridiculous and honestly I feel if anything this will just make your channel grow bigger and their poor business practice will inevitably fall apart. Just subscribed strictly because of your honesty, integrity always wins at the end. Keep it up. The community is not stupid, as you can see.

Like you need to grow your following… it’s anti customer, what they are doing. It’s not just plugins dude. Hardware has burned me too. I’d drop their name but I’m still waiting for the firmware update they promised.

They could have turned this around even if they wanted to keep the pricing structure the same, just by saying they didn’t mean to mislead but this is the direction they’re going… then respecting others who have differing opinions but still wishing them well. But trashing you online because you called them out on this? WTF? Even if they felt that way even just releasing some bullshit corporate response would have been a million times better than this.
Sad because I also really liked their stuff but will never buy from this company again.
I agree their marketing is super misleading, so much so it literally feels satirical. 100% free NO PAYWALLS (after you buy this thing).
If it’s not free don’t focus your entire marketing campaign on hidden paywalls and “free” content! They’re literally drawing attention to shady marketing behavior and IN THE NEXT SENTENCE DOING THAT EXACT THING.

Hey Dash, thank you for highlighting this shady stuff by Audiomodern and for showing what you get (or don't get in this case!) in their new product. I have quite a few products by them and always liked their stuff a lot, but this seems pretty scummy and pretty weird for them. Sorry for the sh*t you're having to take from them over this, but in the end we appreciate your honesty and this only makes them look bad, especially accusing you of doing this for views. I might not be a regular on your channel, but I am subbed and do watch your videos from time to time and I would personally never have jumped to that conclusion, it's quite a juvenile reaction by them.

Love Soundpaint for this reason. Their libraries are priced so much lower but the stuff you get is just incredible. You get a list of all programs and/or parts I think on the website that you'll get with your purchase. The programs (presets) themselves are so well thought off and created with all the amazing features of Soundpaint.

And finally, the engine is completely free, has a bunch of great free instruments to try out, you can import your own samples with the free engine.... So no commitment. You can try and explore the engine and also the free libraries before buying even a single library. Really worth it.

And lastly, the way Soundpaint keeps updated and adding to their engine is amazing.

I thought it was crap from the first couple of minutes, immediately uninstalled it… Shame

I like Soundbox so far. The way I understand it is that for $30 I get the Voxmotive presets AND the unlocked player to use with my own samples. I also hear there are free preset packs coming out. Maybe those will use Soundbox in a locked mode sorta how other companies offer “Lite” versions where you can’t tweak settings of the free presets.

I expected better from you,
almost EVERYONE that has been in this for a while knows:
1. audio software/plugins are mostly a scam, they will lie to you, add 'new features' and charge more. There is not one well-know audio software company that has been totally honest. Remember a year or so ago when Bitwig promised some feature as a free upgrade but then decided to charge money instead? There was an uprising etc.
2. Buy things on sale only, which is actually very often, these companies like to keep people hyped with "deal closing soon" and then in 2 months they do the exact same "SALE".
3. There are are opensource alternatives, that may/may not be as good. But people are lazy or think big companies are on their side.

Honestly dont know how you can call this plugin the BIGGEST SCAM. You should say it should be cheaper in your opinion.
Are the sample Quality very good? maybe thats why it cost so much, eg some Amazing sound?
Kontak has a propriety format too, you cant get samples out of some sample packs with (nki or nkm?)
Audimodern must have done something else to upset you, because there are WAY worse companies you could have fried.

Can you even put your own sample in ?🧐 this is the current shinigans native instrument are up to , with AI demonstrators 🤖… all these dodgy sales techniques insulting customer’s intelligence plus ruining any trust from previous product success, why shooting themselves in the foot though ? Great examples comparison, of soundpaint which is pure innovation in its self…. Kontakt used to have the image of a workhorse sampler, now it’s a circus to sell maschine. Weird marketing people managing these companies.

I had such a high level of trust in this company that I couldn't even imagine that something would go wrong with this plugin, I was sure that it would work perfectly, and there would be no other pitfalls.
How disappointing this situation turned out to be, I can't even believe it, and it's sad.

I am sad to see these kind of things, not only on Software industry but, everywhere. A company should try to earn their customers, employees and treat them well, listen to them unlike going towards a only seek profit kind of mindset, %100 of the time. A quality, honest product, will earn w/o doubt people's trust in time. Can't this company send you a polite e-mail.

What I'm taking away from all this. They're selling the plugin, with a preset pack taking up a minor value of the cost. It had a premature launch, needed a bit more work (I can live with that). Somewhere a manager decided that if they didn't out a price tag somewhere then no one would buy it and they'd likely be making a major loss (hence the employee reference). What I find strange is that they just didnt come out and say that theyre putting a price tag on it. The statement on their forum is just plain slander, highly unprofessional, reminds me of US politics. Its a shame.

I think audiomodern is being roasted in an unfair manner. That’s not to say roll out was perfect, nor is it to say that the initial language couldn’t have been tweaked. (They are addressing issues with updates…as happens with any new platform.)

But there’s a bit of a “hit job” vibe to this video and then a pile on by other tubers trying to cash in on “the controversy” for views.

I have a lot of hopes for this platform.

I called this company out because they lied about doing midi output and ever since then I have not felt comfortable invested into them: They gave me output arcade vibes and people should know they do shady sales and then if you don't have proof they will lie and say that wasn't the promotion.

Not just that,most devolpers sucks,for instance Komplete by NI upgrade,Reason 13 upgrade,T Racks 6 upgrade and so on.... they do minimal cosmetics update add some sounds and charge a lot money, most DAW's are pretty same or very similar funcionality to each other,one stealing form other etc From not many companies i really like politics UVI and they are my favorite atm .

Audiomodern have just posted in their forum basically accusing me of doing this for views, but also confirming that they did indeed miss-step at initial launch. Again for someone who has supported these folks since 2018 promoting them for free, this is back-stabbery of the highest order.
