I’ve read a couple of books on Winston Churchill and plenty where he is a part of the narrative. He’s one of the few historical figures I’ve grown to respect more as I learned more about him. That’s not to say he was perfect, but the man who he was despite his imperfections makes me revere him. There’s one constant theme with Churchill. He truly wanted to be a positive impact on the world. Whatever outdated thinking he may have had a good soul was behind it.
Ответить"When I hear that man Mosley speak I see the green shoots of another war growing up around his feet"?????
Sheer. Fvcking. Hubris!
"I am no longer sure"
"I won't burden you with it"
Had some other person heard those answers in Churchill's position, they would have been infuriated at Tommy's unwillingness to answer. But Churchill is a war veteran and recognizes Tommy as the same. He knows Tommy is speaking with complete sincerity as he doesn't want another fellow soldier to get to know the depths and darkness of his role in this ongoing war.
The cigar burns bright yet no smoke comes out of his mouth.
ОтветитьChurchill is a horrible fucker though
ОтветитьSeason 5 is my favourite season by a long shot
ОтветитьEpic
ОтветитьWhen big and small realize that they must ban together to save humanity from evil. A tale as old as time and as present as today.
ОтветитьAnd in France
ОтветитьAirport prison
ОтветитьEpic scene
ОтветитьWest minster
ОтветитьRead about the meeting between Staline and Churchill.
ОтветитьOne of the more memorable scenes in the series for me
ОтветитьChurchill was as bad as Hitler if not worse.
Ответить2 very nasty and very brilliant men. Masters of manipulation n blood. A very cold and epic scene
Ответить“As do I, as do I”, side shot, low light. Very few moments encapsulate the same or more meaning than this one. Superb talent.
ОтветитьIn a show where a bunch of horrible villains die miserably, nothing was more satisfying for me than the moment that Churchill forgot Campbell’s name, absolutely brilliant writing.
ОтветитьThe best depiction of Churchill I've seen.Absurd
Ответитьthe lights, the photography, the colors...
sophisticated aesthetics.
This scene actually taught me to be humble I guess when dealing with people in charge
ОтветитьThis is a horrible Churchill
ОтветитьI liked this series until they brought in the homosexuality (???) in the orgy scene (???). But this part, when "Ol' Winnie," talks of Mosley and how he wanted war, he is "projecting," which is psychological talk that means it was Churchill himself who wanted war because he was paid off by the "certain race" of bankers who wanted war. "They" paid for his cigars and his alcoholic habit alive, and despite Hitler's attempt to avoid war, Ol' Winnie pushed for through lies and deception. He's a true war criminal - he and Eisenhower.
Ответитьchurchill doesn't care that pol killed campbell? i can't believe we are expected to believe that? 4 seasons ago they were fighting the communists, now they have all but become them.
ОтветитьTommy shelby must play a sort of James bond boss or vilain next time
ОтветитьOne of the things I don't understand about S5, is that Lizzie's fans say that Tommy fell completely in love with her, but in this scene, last episode, Tommy tells Churchill that he will never be happy, his unambitious gardeners are happier than him, and then he says that some nights he wants to end it all, because nothing is worth it, shouldn't he be happy if he's so in love with her?
ОтветитьOf all the episodes of Peaky, this is one of the top ten moments, and Kudos to the Men portraying. I really wish we could have all attended that family dinner in Birmingham. It would have been Interesting.
ОтветитьThis & the scene in Narcos where Pablo meets with Miguel Angel, incredible scenes with incredibly powerful people.
ОтветитьNice comedy show
ОтветитьThis goes to show that the Nationalist movements were and are the biggest threat in our world. They have no bounds, they have no control, they are a weed that must be destroyed. We are one race. The human race. And even tho different flags with different looking men fought to destroy it. We all came together in the end.
ОтветитьChurchill was a beast
ОтветитьLike Churchill would met a bum like this fffs
ОтветитьMen back then has so many sigmas unlike today.
ОтветитьChurchill's accent is spot on
ОтветитьYou can really tell that the guy playing Churchill had had tons of prostethics and makeup on his face to look like Churchill. His face just looks so... Stiff.
ОтветитьI wonder if Churchill was this intense in real life.
ОтветитьDude , they changed Churchills actor like 3 times right? why is that ? kind of weird
Ответить"as do I. as do I, mr. shelby" 🔥
ОтветитьChurchill from Ohio
Ответить“There are sometimes, some nights…” that music drop is deep
ОтветитьThe scene is brilliant for many reasons, but i don't see enough people talk about the 3 gardeners line. Ambition is a double edged sword. And sometimes the guy who clocks in and out is the most happy. I think more people need to pay attention as to why that is.
ОтветитьShould've been executed for crimes against humanity
ОтветитьJesus christ
Listening their talking is like drinking fine wine 🍷.
I would love to see the meeting between Churchill and the shelbys
ОтветитьThat's a huge fuckin cigar, almost as big as a shawarma wrap
ОтветитьMost favorite scene, every word, every act.
ОтветитьWhen you actually know something about history the notion of Churchill opposing Mosley on the basis of avoiding war is hilariously ironic. Churchill dragged the British people kicking and screaming into WW2 against their will and bankrupted the empire unnecessarily by refusing all of Hitler's numerous peace offers in 1940 when Poland had already long fallen. Hitler offered to allocate German troops to bolster the British empire and said they had a common enemy in the Soviets, but Churchill decided to prolong WW2 for another 5 years and throw away tens of millions of lives for nothing. Germany was so dedicated to peace with Britain Rudolph Hess parachuted into Scotland himself to negotiate since their hand had been slapped away in bad faith so many times through official channels. The cult of Churchill in Hollywood and western academia is such a joke.
Even better is the fact the Mosley was openly in opposition to Churchill's warmongering in real life and was imprisoned without trial for it. Revisionism at it's dumbest.
winston churchill showed that when he said “eager to give answers to men better than you” he thinks if one of those men that is better than others, he said major Campbell name with such disgust 😹😹
