God of War Ragnarok - Story & Ending Explained

This game is such a masterpiece.

These are fine games but I really don’t like how the new GoW basically ignores the old games and the story they told 99% of the time.

Well they are making that expansion for atreus finding the giants. Could be that they're in another mythological land such as egypt or india or even Japanese. They mentioned that many Gods exist, greece was just remade without zeus.
So maybe we'll get to explore more areas or just one. Would make sense to end it with atreus.

What a crock of shit. "Faye wanted them to make their own choices." Is that why she tricked them into killing Baldur and literally planned their every step in the first game? The hack writers want you to believe Odin is a vile, manipulative monster because they say so, but they expect you to ignore Faye's manipulations while portraying them in intimate detail.

I’ve played some great adventure games these past couple of years. Botw, Elden ring, Totk comes to mind. But no other game comes even close to the emotional story telling of modern Gow. One of the best series ever made, and that comes from a Nintendo fan since birth. I sincerely hope that this game wasn’t the end. So many more gods to slay out there 😢

Honestly this game so good at its best. Plus based on the ending of the game and the shrine. That shows Kratos being worshiped and a beloved god of the people. I’m not sure what a future God of War game could possibly be really. Granted they could have a post Ragnorak timeline game. Where a beloved god Kratos is challenged by a survivor Aesir god. To bring back a Aesir dominated Norse realm like with Odin had. Or Kratos gets shoved into another mythology and see what happens then.

Really hope they come out with a side game with just Atreus and then continue Kratos’ story with the Egyptian mythology and finishing with like the birth of Jesus as one of the wise men or something like that

I wasn’t gonna finish this game, and even though I feel enticed to do so after this video I still don’t know.

Watching this and seeing the end has made a little more intrigued to finish it, but something about just feels off and I think it’s this.

It’s trying to do too much.

The first game had a simple goal, get to the mountain and spread mothers ashes, the villains got in the way of that.

In Ragnarok the game is about stopping Ragnarok before it can occur, and it seems to do that relatively well from what I’ve seen here.

My problem is it overwhelms you with lore and bad guys being good, then suddenly bad, then jokes galore like everyone thinks it’s a fine Sunday morning when they should be more and more terrified as Ragnarok approaches. It just became too much for me and I haven’t touched it since.

I’ve yet to finish it, so maybe at the end of the year I’ll come back and play it to end, but i sadly couldn’t take this game seriously with its abundance of jokes that bordered on Marvel Humour.

I’m happy you all enjoyed this game, maybe even enjoyed the jokes, but it sucked away the tension of the moment.

omfg i just realized ratatoskr is radagast from lord of the rings... as tolkin told that story of lotr is on our planet, tho it was 3rd age as our is 7th, so technical if we look at that, then it radagast is ratatoskr in age before our ( by catholic meaning )

Faye is the unsung hero of the series. We never really saw her alive, except in memories/visions, and since GoW 2018 she had been plotting the events to come seeking nothing but the happines of her husband and son.

Overall a good game but the main villain left much to be desired. They just kept telling you how bad he was but never actually showed anything for him to be considered the bad guy. For Zeus however we actually got to see some of his evil deeds throughout the series.

Dude I watched this video as a reminder in early game since a took a long break right so the TYR thing was a massive spoiler for me 😂 ok I stopped video and finished the game couple months later a return to this vid and the same spot and you show the end of game Tyr 😂😂 I spoil myself again since I didn’t get there yet lol, thanks for the summary thou
