What a bad review! Comparing Pioneer to Apple.. And Denon to Android..
I think it’s the other way around like we had phones for years and then there came iPhone!
We’ve had CDJ’s for years and then there came Denon.

The things he mentions as play stuff in the Denon are well thought layout.

Come on.. Multi-Touch is not a software update..

Pioneer lacks and limits DJ innovation!

dj'ing on a Denon is pretty nice. They are easy to get into. Pricepoint they are pretty good. Q points buttons on the bottom of the player is nice to have.

Ive never seen a DJ struggle when hoping on a Denon player. If your a good DJ there is no issue. The only issue is not with the player itself, but with Record Box being the software everyone codes their tracks in. Hard for a DJ to throw down on a Denon CDJ/Controller, when all their tracks are in Pioneer's proprietary software.

if you’d cut out half of the words the video will stay less longer but still will contain more words then useful information 😂

I own two SC-6000's. I finally got to play on two CDJ-3000's at DJX & I felt the transition and adjustment to be quite easy. Both are solid products.

I've played on pioneer for ages, few years ago moved to denon sc5000m and now to the sc6000m. Denon wins hands down for how much technology it offers more than pioneer. But more than all djing on a pair of denon pushes your creativity forward, it's much more fun. Last but not least the price. For the price of a cdj 3000 (one channel) you buy two sc6000m which have 4 layers in total. It's not even a fair challenge in my opinion.

2 years later and I never saw a DENON SC6000 at a big event, small event, club, venue, outdoor party, rooftop party, online streaming...you name it. In zero instances. Such a shame.

It's hard to tell which one is best. i will go for Pioneer DJ, because that is what i'm growing up with. XDJ RX3 will perhaps be my next dj set. It's cheaper and it is the same as DJM 900 just 2 channels instead

We know the CDJ’s are the standard but…we can all agree that the track analysis and the integration of Wi-Fi along with Streaming services is where Pioneer dropped the ball. 🤦🏾‍♂️
It’s 2023 and Beatport was just added!?
Hopefully Pioneer DJ can release a unit that answers to the Denon Prime Go, Numark Mixstream Pro/Pro Go devices. But with Rekordbox (of course) and Serato support
My flagship unit is The RANE One and I have the DDJ-REV1 as a workhorse (which was a fabulous upgrade from the DDJ-SB3) also serving as my Wedding Ceremony rig.

he had a mistake, the cdj 500 model that he showed is from 1997, the original cdj 500 was at least twice bigger, the cdj 500 that he showed is the "S" model, the small compact version. i tried it back in a day and it was pretty lame, very bad feel to it, wasnt fun to mess with, the cdj 100s that came out in 1998 was felt alot better, you could insert a cdj via slide in, tough it didnt have a loop function\feature, it had 3 nice effects that include a pitch\tone change effect, like that was on the commercially DJM 800 that came out in 2005, i had both and i can say that pioneer did a good job with the cdj 100s, it may did not have a large jog wheel that you could scratch with but i was made right and professional, the 1000 that came in 2001 also had alot more accurate speed adjust, wow, for that year it was something big, devastatingly expensive but was a great tool, it made history

I have played on both and have to say the 3000 sounds way better than the sc6000 and feels better to spin on. Yes the demon is packed with more features but if and when you play a big gig you won’t use half the features on the demon. That’s why pioneer haven’t changed to much as they know DJs want to feel comfortable and safe while using dj equipment. I don’t want the idea in my head if Wi-Fi will let me down and things like that while playing on equipment. The sc6000 is good but to many features that many pro DJs will ignore

Some things to take on board when considering this review;

1. Pioneer is now “compared” (in the form of an analogy, not an actual direct comparison(!)) to Apple for incremental rather than radical changes; the market leader will always behave this way - Pioneer wont be loading their products with unproven features. Fact is, the features on the CDJ3000 are being "meh''d" because Denon released their unit first, so it makes the Pioneer look old already (big screen; meh seen it before). Denon must and will try radical features to see what sticks, but layering, internet, slicing etc are all unproven at club level. The screen, however, is something Pioneer should have matched for this release, for sure.

2. Saying that the sc5000 and sc6000 were game changers is a little silly; they have literally copied Pioneer and added said "radical" /untested ' unwanted features and some of their own preferences (pads below the jog, for example).

3. Denon have, by the looks of it, arrived at their "level" now and you'll start to see less big changes and more incremental changes as they refine their unit to be a Pioneer beater....which, if they do things right, could be 2-3 releases down the line. What we'll probably end up with is two companies that release units that are almost identical in quality and features, barring software differences and a couple of trademark bits here and there....and then we really will have an iPhone vs Galaxy situ EDITED: OR Mac vs Any high grade PC situ

Your comments on the 3000 are exactly why I will always go with Pioneer. Fair play to Denon though for making such a nice CDJ but not for me. It's like back in the day I loved my Rane 68 mixer for scratching but I changed to Pioneer to get used to the familiarity in club enviornments. In the end glad I'm did as it became super easy in those situations to just not have to think about the mixer controls.

The coin has 2 sides like always. From one side mega overpriced Pioneer that offer "nothing special" and from other side a gamechanging player 2 in one + HDD slot and option to keep your all TB music always ready and with the player at a bargin price. Coin side number 2 : If Pioneer come back on earth with human priceing like 1500 usd per deck, nobody will buy Denon, thats for sure. Actually even if Pioneer has the same dual output and big screen and HDD slot, on its recent price point, still will be a big NO NO for 90% of the DJs.

'They're both good', bruh, not only does the Denon do everything the cdj can do, it also spares the need for a dj mixer, and honestly, with a setup like the one I have currently, (which requires a lot of patch cables but that's about it) you can have both decks from an sc6000m run into traktor, be sent externally back via usb, then back into a bus track, into the same digital mixer, which then can be recorded into a DAW, keeping everything in sync, I added an MPC and another smaller synth/workstation to the mix, plus I get 2 line in inputs for recording a pre-amp or an instrument rack into my sync'ed sampler, all done wirelessly, tuned for studio use, it's way better. Pioneer fell off, this thing picked up! SC6000M all the damn way, it also brought traktor and all it's FX with it ;p.

Thats the thing, now you can rock up and plug ur reckorbox usb into the dennon play and BAM u got ur shit ready to go. Its cheaper and with better tech and features. Seems like a no brainer to me gah dayum. A pro dj will easily hop on the dennon gear no second questions asked! Layout and essential functions are basically the same. I see loads of pioneer users on reddit stressing about using different models to their own at clubs so thats still an issue for everyone

Pioneer is nothing like Apple lol.

Apple always came around with a big leaps forward in both technology and accessibility, and most importantly UI design and user experience.
Pioneer, for over 25 years, has done nothing like that, instead they incrementally evolved the same old concept that was around from 1995, especially in the last 10 years not much has happened. Of course I exaggerate, since there has been a lot of improvement since 1995 xD, but in some core areas to build a solid platform overall they just didn't deliver at all. These include: Hardware, software and UI concepts that are considered outdated everywhere else but the flagship DJ Media player market.
It's also easy to see where this all came from: their de facto monopoly.

I've just ordered 2x SC5000s. The 6000s screen is just too big, can't fit into setup. & Since it's the only difference bar a drive bay (you can just tuck an external drive underneath the 5000). They should still produce both as a range. As for the Pioneer side of things I'll get an XDJ -RZ to replace last gen cdj 400 & that will be it. Practice using Pioneer 'hardware mode' if needed for clubs & continue where the FLX6 is on Rekordbox software at the same time with a mixer comparable to 900NXS2 & DVS built-in for the SL1210s. The Denons added for extra creativity. The 3000 is way overpriced I wouldn't buy a pair (currently) even though I could afford to. £5000 for a pair? The 2000 NXS2 & XDJ 1000 look dated now for still around the same as the Denons (£1600 each). & For a little more £ you could find SC5000s over the extremely limited XDJ 700. It's simple the Pioneer XDJ - RZ is good value & features, the Denon SC range is good value & features, the CDJ 3000 is not. It's a good player but not £2500 each. & Shouldn't that be XDJ 3000?

The 3000 is better because its what is in the clubs. Never been to a club that doesn't have 2000s or 3000s and I think that's a good thing. Of course the denons are better tech wise but it's nice to know a rekorbox USB will always work with them
