Does this machine take 18 gramms of coffee ? If not which machines take up to 18 or more gramms of coffee ???

We just bought one yesterday and while waiting for the bottomless portafilter, we're gonna practice on the stock one. Question though, how many do you yield on a 14gram ground coffee on the stock pressurized portafilter?

is it supposed to be a bit on the sour side as well?

I recently bought a Dedica and I love it! Only thing that it’s sometimes quite loud when extracting espresso…not sure if this is normal. When I push in the water tank it goes quieter? Is anyone familiar with this?

Hello tom. I have a question from Norway. Portafilter which comes along with ec885 got his color changed after I washed it in kitchen machine. Kinda black powder stuff was over all. What can be this? Can't use it anymore?

Hey Tom. I did get this. I also got a bottomless portafilter, the IMS basket, the distribution tool and a leveller/tamper as well. I also decided to use a puck screen and I think it really helps . Not sure if it's any one thing or all combined, but I am getting amazing espresso. Better than most local Cafés I am sure, and I can't imagine how much more could be improved upon this even if I had spent twice as much or more. (I should add as well that I am using a Baratza Vario grinder.) Thank you again for your content and answers to my questions that helped steer me in this direction!

I am also curious: I am getting excellent froth from this unit as well, but I just noticed today that the tip of the wand easily unscrews. Given this, I'm curious if you know of a tip updrade that would improve opon the stock tip? Something with 3 or 4 holes perhaps. Any thoughts?

Hey again Tom. You use 14g in the nonpressurized basket here, yet the H26 IMS basket that you link to says that it is sized for 15-18g of coffee. Is this the correct basket? Thanks - cheers!

Why does the coffee come out in drops slowly even after descaling?

Thank you for your detailed video on the coffee machine. That model has just been released here in the UK, purchased it from Argos a well-known UK multi-product retailer. I ordered mine today, they are having an early Black Friday sale, from £250 to £200, a wee bargain. This is my first time using one of these machines, I love lattes, however, going to Costa and Starbucks was costing me a fortune, using the money I spent on lattes to fund this coffee machine. Thanks for the links on the bottomless portafilter, I've ordered one before I receive my coffee machine this coming Saturday. :)

Hi Tom, I have Dedica EC680 for some time. But after watching your videos I discovered that you extracted 30 to 35 gr espresso from 14 gr of coffee. In my machine, I have 75-85 gr of liquid out of 13.5 gr of coffee. I have a Broun burr grinder on the lowest settings. Is that a problem or is something wrong with the machine. I know the grinder is not perfect for the espresso. Timing is around 32-35 sec.

In your opinion better to buy Dedica Arte + grinder apart or the Specialista Arte?

I just bought this exact machine brand new and when I turn the steam/hot water switch all the way, the machine makes a punping noise. Is that how it should work? I would appreciate your comments
