It’s “not self” rather than “no self”. See AN 6.38. This is an important distinction.

May be when "sunya" it envelopes the consciousness...and there is no speech or mind or bhuddi....(the stage before srushti).... There no school or thought....

From the lectures I could conclude.....
Reaching Advaita state. Hard to reach in the material world.
I am convinced i have already passed through the dvaita state..hats off to that school.
To realise the state of Advaita bhava or to atleast know of it. I have to practice. Which is very friendly to me is visisht'advaita where I not only feel the intimacy but further get the light to the path shown by sri Sankara who addressed the lord as "bhuddi sakshine...🙏 Swami please guide me.....

Selflessness to True Self is what the Buddha taught.

Listened today, though it was there since about 4 months. I the translator inti Tam the book THE GOSPEL O F Buddha a by Oaul Carus alsow w ent t through Nagarjuna's Moolmadyamika Karika where Nagarjuna says "Freedom has nothing to distinguosh it from life process and vise versa " . meaning two truths intertertwined....
In one sentence The Ribu Geetha says after explaining there is only Chit and no chitham " Even this sentence is false"😂.

Crackin' good lecture. Mmmm mmm the good stuff. The earlies. And the dialectic as it proceeds through the ages. And it's such a heart matter, so meaty and chunky and beefy. Like right in there. And such an expansive view. My, how pretty it is. And thank you many times over Swami. I keep coming back to these lectures many times to clarify. And to learn new perspectives. Many doors to the temple. We are truly blessed to be in the presence, so to speak, of a master scholar monk. But I wonder about that reference letter. What did she exactly say that they had to confiscate and hide it in the archives at Widener? Mwa ha ha ha. LOL.

Amazing talk as always, but all these philosophies become a little too much!

Swami ji, Shri Ramkrishna's first statement you mentionrf, that "if you analyze who you are, you find nothingness" is more to show the limitations of analysis/thinking right ?

On the other hand, non analytical recognition leads to Ishwara.

Then where and what is the Difference between Mandukya Up..? At the end bothe are meetig at the same point? Sarbani ..canada.

Amazing...must listen again and again and also meditate as advised, to get the essence of emptiness and know the one eternal oneness in which everything is appearing and disappearing...

Namaste Swamiji, thank you so much for this insight, for long i have wondered what exactly Buddhism was, why they needed shunyam ,niravana at all, after listening to you, i also watched the tibetan monk debate that you referred to, and suddenly it clicked that this is the route to Shaolin defence system, and its a way to defend ourselves against the karma of physical violence, ie how to retaliate without incurring karma..i mean who perpatrates the violence on innocent people, not directly but through adharma, ie by unfair means, the ashuras,the cowards who have manipulative minds, so its a mind stunning process,where the attacker's mind itself gets confused and stunned into inaction,"babhayasa mati" but this needs purity of intention, if personal revenge etc is intended then it again goes into karmic cycle,so these mind excercises, through logic,zen, etc.The question is why did Adi Shankaracharya debate them, then? I think likely he debated the fake buddhists who were advocating violence, like his cousin devdutta who shoots a swan.

Respected Swamiji, Thanks for your teachings. But I have a doubt. Why , inspite of these wonderful teachings, the disciples are not changing at all.

A handful of tumeric on a bowl of wheat noodles with good chunk vegan butter taste like reminding me of grassy field I’m sitting in. Then after three or four bites maybe add a little curry.

Maybe you’d like to teach us about the emptiness within transcendent mystical reality. Would you drop us off that far master?

If we know very well about emtyness with deep experience then the thoughts of creator is disappeared frome your own mind.

Science can't explain everything but many of these logics have no meaning in view of present day science.

If when personal self dissolves completely, when there is nothing left as personal self in consciousness then this is called voidness, sunyam in Buddhism Or atman in vedic language.. there is no material substance, dimension, attributes,qualities in Atman or pure consciousness.

Emptiness of Buddhism is not dream, as speaker wishes to present.
Just realize that none of the species on world including human beings have either come to this life at their own accord or are aware of respective origin and hence, it could be said that “emptiness” is the very essence of life and to fill-in that “emptiness”, creative minds have created God and finding no logical explanation of somebody taking birth as prince, some as pauper, some as beautiful some as ugly, some as wise some as fool etc., have evolved theory of “Karma”. There is obviously no other alternative but to surrender to divine nature, and to hope, as there is light at end of every tunnel, similarly something would appear at end of emptiness to justify need of this creation and sufferings. But, that will unfold itself as per it’s divine timing and nobody is empowered to hasten that process. Hence, emptiness is reality and not dream.

Shankaracharya's non-dual Vedanta was highly criticized by Ramanuj, Jamunacharya etc., on the ground that his theory was totally based on wrong interpretation of Upanishads slokas and was highly biased by Buddhist philosophy of emptiness, which was totally unfounded. Unfortunately this RKM is giving wide publicity to theory of Shankaracharya, keeping contrary theories of Ramanuj etc. in the dark, which is creating wrong knowledge about Hinduism in minds of listeners, who are mostly laymen.

The Self is not open to question since it is guaranteed by universal human experience. On the other hand, the legitimacy of sacred scriptures is something that is NOT guaranteed and requires substantial evidence, something that is quite lacking on the tibetan buddhist side.

Simply WONDERFUL. A meditative experience ended up with light nothing but light or chaithanya.

I don't find all the five are unique that what our tradition narrates about shoonyatha ...

Truth is one. It can never convey different for different branches or sects etc.,
