I always assign at least 1 dweller to the living quarters

ik this is an old video but when you are assigning an item to a dweller you can click the button that say inventory to toggle through 3 options inventory, equipped, and all, so you dont have to find the dweller that is using something, unequip it, and then go back to the dweller that needs it.

do you prerecord these videos and then do a voice over over the video? just curious haha

The vault I'm currently playing had a Heavy Wasteland Gear (+7 endurance) in the first lunchbox. That has sped up the progression so so much.

i now realise i was screwed from the start. my power is first 2 floors and living areas are on the bottom lol

Just stumbled across this series, because I started fallout shelters again just to realize I actually am bad at these type of games. I'm just wondering, why you built your first living quarters on the top row instead of immediately start the living quarters on the 3rd row?

I took a break from Fallout Shelter for about a year after working through your 2020 (I think that was the year) reboot series. I missed the game so now I installed it again and am starting from scratch. Imagine my horror when I couldn't find the videos from your channel I saved last time! And imagine the relief and pure joy I felt when I saw you have an updated version!! Thank you so much, your videos really unlocked the fun of the game for me.

Where can I find a video that goes over the basic information. I pretty much read all the tooltips and the 29 help files, but I still don't know a lot of basic stuff like how the stats interact with combat. I don't know what endurance does at all. I don't understand what leveling does in general because unlike the actual Fallout game it doesn't seem to affect the stats, though it does seem to affect hit points. Oh and I was amused to discover that the game has some sort of algorithm against inbreeding the, but I don't know exactly how it works or even how to tell if two people are related aside from putting them in the rec room together. Finally I've accumulated a lot of junk and though it probably has something to do with crafting later on, I don't have any idea of what I should save or throw away

I've had this game installed for years but forgot about it, so now I have a dweller thats been in the wasteland for half a year and somehow survived because I haven't played it, so I only need to wait 80 days for him to rrturn

That is the luckiest start ive ever seen. Im 10 hours in, not a single rare dweller

Hardly the perfect start.
Leave living quarters on the top floor because they will be empty 90% of the time. Don't be in a rush to get dwellers pregnant at the start of the game. Children produce nothing but tax your resources. Put storage next to it (same reason, empty), and don't put an elevator on the RHS on the top floor. Make attackers run all the way across and back again to the elevator on the LHS to give yourself time to prepare your defences, especially at the start when you only have a few weapons to share around when incidents start.
Barracks and storage on the top floor make good holding spaces when you are getting a team together to go on quests.
Instead of building large rooms at the start, build multiple rooms (of the same kind, different levels) next to each other and slowly level them up over time until they end up joining together. This will keep incidents small, and give you time to swap out lower level toons when the sh!+ goes down.
Leave an empty floor between the levels at the start (and/or stagger them, room on the left of the elevator, next level down, room on the right of the elevator), so if incidents do start, they can't spread to the floor below. That way if the worse thing happens you can always run away and let it run its' course without wasting any meds healing low level dwellers.
At the start, keep your good weapons in storage so you can quickly hand them out to whoever needs them when incidents happen. If you hand them out too early, you will end up with defenceless dwellers. Remember to put them back when the incident is over, ready for the next one.

If you pressed skip in the upper right before you got to the vault screen it would have started with tips disabled. Then you coukd have placed all rooms where you wanted in the beginning.

If you build the vault where there's dirt between each floor then the disaster doesn't move upstairs the dirt blocks it. Handy mechanic for survival mode

Of course it will work me proceeding to screw up 4 rushes
