A few important points for beginners like me: the removable-media app can only read from /media and /mnt directories. Also, Nextcloud snap works with root:root permissions. This means the parent directory of the external drive where the data folder is located has to have root:root as its permission.

I wished my ip address would change all the time I have had the same ip since ii moved to this address so like 8 years i have had the same public IP address i called and asked to have mine changed and they told me they couldn't change it it goes to the home address crazy

Hi Jay has the lyrics noob yeah I really enjoy your videos and I get a lot out of him I have a question about this video regarding the moving of the Nextcloud data and I understand what you’re doing and everything makes a lot of sense but after reading and learning more about Sim links my question is could the same thing be done much faster and much easier with a simple symbolic link linking the Nextcloud default direct tree to your hard drive directly where you want to have the data for your your cloud services analyze amount point and everything so it’s a question pros and cons I’ve certainly it would be much cleaner to move the fox folders and set it up in the configuration but the same link as symbolic link my God it seems like such a fast way to go and it illuminates a lot of hassles your thoughts will be appreciated as always thank you Jay

Thank you for the great video this is going to help a lot I’ve just installed my next cloud and my Plex server using snap and I’ve been wondering how do I move the data to the storage that’s not where my system lives so I think the video will help with both of these as you describe how you move it from next cloud I am assuming the process will be very similar for Plex as well so thank you again for this
