My son was accepted into Pratt, Baltimore, Chicago, MassArt and others, not sure if we looked into this school, but I know that its way too expensive to live in SF, so he would not have gone, as he was adamant not to graduate in a lot of debt, and felt that in the end the schools all teach about the same, and he was already very much his own artist and knew his own mind before he ever stepped foot into college. Its a shame, because it seems like a good school that focuses on the things that he was really good (as in: national awards) at, i.e, classical realism, like Rodin and the like. But he chose a school that is not up to his level and as far as I can see, his first two years area being wasted as he waits for everyone else to catch up. Obviously, so many kids just don't have any real talent and the teachers must teach everyone equally! Gotta have equity of outcomes, even if it means that my son has to wait for all those other space cadet losers with no real talent to catch up. Which, they never will. You either have talent and vision, or you don't. School can only teach you the nuts and bolts of technique, and perhaps how to harness your vision. True talent is in the hands, the eye, the mind and the soul of the artist. You might have the thought that you're an artist, but if you don't have the hands, well......its like thinking in your head that you could sing like Adele, if only you could sing! Either you can, or you can't. You can get better, learn to use your talent, but if you just cant carry a tune, no school can teach that. My son was doing better stuff on his own during lockdown while still a junior in high school. Sad.
So yeah, if you can afford to live in SF, or NYC, or wherever, you're better off going to a good school. If you're good enough. Just my 2 cents. I'm a little pissed that he's wasting his talent at the moment. Well, we'll just wait and see.

I wish they made these classes free for artists. Who can contribute to public sculpture. This place looks exzactly how sculpture should be taught. Tom Durham makes really original work check his fb Page.
