Yes! I just watched The True Cost last night and was going to start looking for other films on the subject today so your video couldn't have come at a better time for me. I think it's so important not just to read about the devastation the fast fashion industry is creating, but also to SEE it, even if it's just through a computer screen. It really drives it all home.

The True Cost was the documentary that started my ethical fashion journey. It hit me so hard that I couldn't keep what I learned from it to myself.

I saw the True Cost last year, I think? But it was so eye-opening and I shared it on my Facebook so my family and friends could see it too or at least be aware that it exists. Ever since then I'm rarely buying clothes and only from local shops.

I seen the truth cost and I have to say at first I started to buy less clothes and stuff but I have kind of drift away from it again, but I will watch it again and all this documentaries and start again with this process. I have already declutter my room and sold some of my stuff that I never use and other stuff gave it away. Even tho right now I need some staples I will try my best to buy the Eco friendly more fair trade clothing. I'm a vegan also so I do feel guilty sometimes having so much stuff that I don't need, I think veganism kind of goes hand on hand with this issue as well. But I will try my hardest to change everything :) Thank you for this video, always inspiring me to be better :)

Thank you for your tips! I will watch them. I have always been interested in this topic, but I have never taken myself to some action. This year I have done a resolution to stop buying from fast fashion brands. In the beginning of the year, the time of huge sales I told myself, that this lifestyle is just not right... I've been watching your videos, for a long long time and I have to thank for such a positive influence on people ❤️😊

There is a norwegian series which is called "Sweatshop - deadly fashion". It really opened my eyes on all these issues in the fashion industry. I believe it is available for free but I don´t quite remember where I found it.

The shocking part of "From Sex Worker to Seamstress" well the MOST shocking part is not about un ethica factories, it's a bigger & deeper situation for them. This women prefer their sex worker life! There's no other choice, there's no future for them even when this factories decided to leave Cambodia. Many, many countries don't care about the poor ones, there's no opportunity for an education, no birth control, no justice for the needed ones. This women came from abusive backgrounds, their own families pushed them to end up like that and it's pretty much an ignorance situation. Their governors don't want them to even learn how to read and that's even more disturbing than buy a pair of non vegan shoes coming from Asia.

The True Cost practically changed my life. Admittedly I still struggle with the temptation of wanting clothes made from overseas in a cheap price but I just remind myself of how much blood and tears were shed for this article of clothing. I'm not sure if this is considered to be environmentally friendly, but I like purchasing clothes secondhand online since I can't seem to find the type of clothes I want at a thrift store sometimes. Either way I'm just doing the best I can right now.

I think my "eco-life" mainly started with the Whale Wars series that focused on Sea Shepherd. I've researched about cosmetic and other stuff before, but that really broke my heart to see.
I've already watched the True Cost and some German documentations mostly made by "arte" about the fashion industry and I think that River Blue would be something that interests me and that I'd like to watch. On Netflix or Amazon Prime I've already watched Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things, A Plastic Ocean, What the Health, More than Honey and Forks over Knives. And I really want to watch Blackfish but havn't got the time lately.
Maybe some of the people watching get to know now even more documentaries to watch! :)

Thanks for these tips, I will be sure to watch them. The older that I get, the more uncomfortable I get with the modern consumerist model in the West. I am now exploring ways to invest in more worker and environmentally friendly clothing alternatives. Buying less and not giving into impulse buys will surely also positively effect my mental state of mind and bring me to a much calmer headspace!

Hi! I felt the same about "unravel", it's heartwarming how positive these women are and at the same time sad that they have to "make up" some funny explanations about why we waste so many clothes...
I watched a lot of your videos lately and I share a lot of opinions. Especially when it comes to being vegan but still using (second hand) leather and wool because the material is longlasting and better than plastic.
Yet I wanted to say, that I disagree with you about donating/recycling clothes. There are a lot of newer german documentaries about how ineffective recycling actually is and more important, that giving your used clothes into containers is actually damaging. So maybe it is still better to just buy less (like you already do) and throw the stuff that you really can't repurpose yourself into your trash bin. Let me know that you think about this or if you want a link to those films!

The True Cost made it simply impossible for me to buy fast fashion anymore. The moment the woman we follow says she wishes she could tell people not to buy clothes made by the blood of people I was done. I'm now working on my shopping habits in general but quitting fast fashion was as easy as becoming vegan after I had the facts ❤

I had always known that sweatshops were bad. I just kept supporting fast fashion because I didn't know where to buy ethical clothing and thought that it must be boring. It all changed when I found out about an ethical shopping app called Good on You. I stopped buying fast fashion from then on and watched The True Cost, which truly reinforced my desicion. I think that in order to convince people and create change, we have to make the new lifestyle accessible and appealing to them. I really like how this channel has videos about ethical brands and products and helps make ethical fashion seem more accessible to people.

Hi, Verena! Great video, I love your channel!
I watched The True Cost for the first time after watching your video with the creator of project Just, I think.
It opened up my eyes for this issue and, since then, I try to be more aware about what I buy and the destination of what I don't want anymore. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing these links. I’ve watched nearly all of them this morning. They’ve definitely made me rethink about where my clothes come from. The River Blue one was especially shocking but I’m impressed with the new processes that companies like Intel denim and Jeanologia have come up with to reduce the use of harmful dyes and chemicals
