I was in my early 30s when Alt/Modern Rock emerged. It was like a musical renaissance for for me. Loved that decade in lots of ways, and now another 30 years has passed and like everyone else on this post I wonder where the time went.
ОтветитьListening to this wishing everything would just end already.
ОтветитьHis haircut is so on purpose..lol
ОтветитьSongs like these were actual music!! Whatever happened to music when the lyrics actually meant something?!?!?
ОтветитьLove this song❤
ОтветитьI remember the 90's vividly. Then the War came. I really miss you Mike. We were brothers. Normally I avoid these tunes because it's just too painful. I miss you buddy. Remember the sand and the stink??? AIRBORNE!!!
ОтветитьOoookk this takes me wayyyy back!!!❤
ОтветитьI Was born in 98 is not my génération but love it from 🇨🇵
Ответитьiv heard this song growing up but never knew the name of the band or song
Ответитьhigh school days :D
ОтветитьThis was back before the world started to cannibalize itself! Back when times were good and simple those days are gone and never coming back😢
ОтветитьWhen I was young I knew everything
And she, a punk who rarely ever took advice
Now I'm guilt-stricken, sobbin' with my head on the floor
Stopped a baby's breath and a shoe full of rice, no
Can't be held responsible
She was touchin' her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me
I can not remember
What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise
For the life of me
I can not believe we'd ever die
For these sins
We were merely freshmen
My best friend took a week's vacation to forget her
His girl took a week's worth of valium and slept
And now he's guilt-stricken, sobbin'
With his head on the floor
Thinks about her now and how he never really wept he said
Can't be held responsible
She was touchin' her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me
I can not remember
What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise
For the life of me
I can not believe we'd ever die
For these sins
We were merely freshmen
We tried to wash our hands of all of this
We'd never talk of our lacking relationships
And how we're guilt-stricken sobbin' with our heads on the floor
We fell through the ice when we tried not to slip we'd say
Can't be held responsible
She was touchin' her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me
I can not remember
What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise
For the life of me
I can not believe we'd ever die
For these sins
We were merely freshmen
For the life of me
I can not remember
What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise
For the life of me
I can not believe we'd ever die
For these sins
We were merely freshmen
We were merely freshmen
We were only freshmen
“40 cents” not “for these sins” 😂
ОтветитьIt's 2023 and am still listening and loving this song ever since❤😊
ОтветитьIndeed, how time moves. The years slide by like water through your hands. Class of '98. Growing up in the 80s and 90s was so different, and in many ways, so much better. I did my best to give my son an adventurous, thoughtful, and well-considered youth. I wish each of you a beautiful and abundant life.
ОтветитьThe 80s were the greatest decade ever but the 90s were the last great decade. Everything after 99 has sucked so bad
ОтветитьYet another song that sounds optimistic but the lyrics are depressing
ОтветитьWhen the song came out, it was just words and music. Now, it's a slice aof life. What irony.
ОтветитьHey Truce
ОтветитьLettuce part one
ОтветитьNeed to type new songs
ОтветитьI want to start a new playlist called my. Mix 2
ОтветитьSixty two years old now and this one hits my soul hard.
ОтветитьThis song been stuck in my head for the past few days ❤🎶🎸
ОтветитьTimeless classic. Makes me feel at home.
ОтветитьThis song had always stuck with me because a friend of mine and I used to use this as the theme song to our Freshman year back in 1999 around the peak of this song. What a time to be alive! I'll always remember.. I just wish time could reverse. 😢 Memories don't have shit on actually living through an experience. Time is ever changing and it just depresses me more with every passing day, and year.
I cannot believe we'd ever die for these sins -that line hits hard now that life has taken its toll. The loss maybe so,e of us have suffered as adults, and we grew up feeling the pain that we never thought we'd have to feel as kids. Our innocence was in tact, our splendor for life and all it had to offer... only to realize the truth of reality as we age.
I came here to say everything all these comments say, you guys said it all. I miss the best decade there ever was 1990-2000.
ОтветитьWhoever is reading this, you are worthy and you are enough. It gets better, keep on keeping on!
ОтветитьThis song came out when I was actually a freshman in high school. Loved it then, love it now. 😌 I’m glad to share this time in the world with you people, as crazy as it can get sometimes these days.
Ответить2023
ОтветитьI survived the freshman year of life.
Looking back I still find it hard to believe
She's a punk like me? NO
ОтветитьMan I miss the 90s great music, TV was good, good movies
Ответить“For the life of me, I can not remember what made us think we were wise…..” this song is even more meaningful and telling now that I am in my 40s. TIMELESS
ОтветитьI was a Freshman in college when this song came out.
ОтветитьThis music is the best fucs all this rappers talking bout pussies and dicks
ОтветитьThat's true and some of us now who are in our 30s wish we could turn time back and get our love ones back
ОтветитьWe were merely freshmen.....
Ответить90s. Get me outta here and back to there. 😢
ОтветитьJail, rehab, and nearly death. Gen X survivor here baby!
ОтветитьI wish I could go back and start over, knowing what I know now.
ОтветитьI was a freshman in HS when this song came out. Feels like just yesterday.
Ответить😢❤🤔🫣😪
ОтветитьNothing should resemble Christopher Oliver Anthony. But it does. It's a damn shame. The guys he's imitating aren't his favorite musicians. So Long, Si. It was COOL>
ОтветитьThis came out back when I didn't have to worry about things like money, career, romance, family, etc., and my future was open to all possibilities. Optimism and hope came effortlessly. Even though I was naive and dumb in some ways, I was happiest back then. I guess ignorance can truly be bliss. When I reflect on all that I've learned and experienced, the truth is that, for many, if not most of us, the best of life was when we were younger, and the future is bleak in comparison. The possibilities are less and less, body is aging, and the truth finally sets in that some things you'd hoped for in life will never come. So, I'm grateful when a song such as this can take me back--even if momentarily--to a time when life was simpler and the future seemed bright.
ОтветитьQueen death on two legs
ОтветитьThat music...
That voice...
Those memories...
Got emotional...
Love this song then and now...
🤎❤️🤍❤️🤎
I was in my 20s now in my 50s, and life flew by too quickly. Enjoy your 20s, and 30s life is too short. 😊
ОтветитьOld memories now retired where does life go
