'Bookless' Library at Stanford

This is soulless and disgusting. I think your brain works differently when you are looking at a real paper book, as opposed to sitting there with your eyes glazed over in front of a computer screen. People learn better with physical books.

Your "empty" library without an army of library staff members should be seen by frightened librarians and assistants who may lose their jobs when our UK public libraries are closed due to public funding cuts. I have not been to my public library since 2003. I am also suspending my expensive external membership to an academic library. Now I carry my library (laptop) in my rucksack everywhere I go! Yet, I still sometimes need a quiet place (an empty library) rather than in a teashop to work.
