I think modifying grasses that cattle eat so that they can absorb/metabolize methane AND fix nitrogen (fertilize surrounding grasses) would be a great way to soak up methane and increase the amount of cattle in a piece of land... Relatedly, having large ranches upstream of landfills would also work better with methane absorbing grasses... So you have a landfill where methane is being harvested and concerted to propane. You have methane that leaks from underground gets partially absorbed by methane consuming grasses, that get eaten by cattle nearby... Maybe throw in some insects, bacteria and worms that consume plastics as well...

Maybe all this electricity in the environment and WiFi is what's causing a lot of the illnesses, what effects does this have on our cells?

I personally think there sound be no limit to how far we wanna push things. Shoot for perfection I say.
"There's a good chance someone will misuse it and potentially change the human race. That's enough to want to bury this technology." she said. With that logic the human race wouldn't be anywhere near advanced as it is today.
Anything can be used with malicious intent. Almost anything can be used/turned into a weapon or used for harm. This fear of messing up will stop most people from trying to improve the world with this technology.
Instead of fearing change we should lean into change, embrace the fear for a better tomorrow. Think of all the amazing things we can accomplish with this, we could remove so many risk factors for the human race. And sure there will be some mess ups, but that's part of the process.
Think about it, a world where no one gets sick, obesity is no longer a thing, a world where the elderly aren't just shoved into a hole in the wall to be forgotten and die slowly in painfully.
We could remove genetic imperfections suck as down's syndrome, autism, and so many others. The limits are our imagination.
In my opinion we should make humans better, smarter, and stronger.
