"We" didn't do this. An evil, souless corporation fronted by a group of a emotionally and morally void "people" did this.

Hi. I live in Northern California, and we have changed a lot of wrongs that have happened to mother nature in the past. I would love to see all of Tasmania getting together, figuring out how to fund some thing to restore this area. I don’t care if you do it through taxing tourists or what. We need to stop pointing out what’s wrong and then do nothing about it

Wat is the Gold Silver & Copper used for & why is it good?
PERPETUAL ENERGY IS NATURAL LAW.
POWRRLINES/WIRELESS ENERGY WAS/IS EASILY ACHIEVABLE. POWRRLINES & HOUSE WIRING WEREN'T/AREN'T needed. So
How many things do you use GOLD & SILVER for?
They are a NATURAL ANTIBACTERIAL DISINFECTANT so wat do you need them for?
I think you should do some more homework on watt you have been educated to believe so you can educate ppl BETTER.
NICE WORK 👍

Unfortunately, most of the rivers in Western Tasmania are polluted by bad mining practices.

As someone who's done a loft of rafting and kayaking in west Virginia, I have seen runoff like this from the mines. Poisons the rivers and destroys the life that surrounds it. Great video my friend. Great video.

Have you been pinged by Tasmanian Government yet for making money online without their approval? Others have, so look into it. 👍🏻🙏🦘

When I was a kid it ran thick and grey just like really wet cement.
Makes me wonder what unseen damage has been done to Macquarie Harbour.

Well done Beau and those involved in sharing this story. It needs to be told.
It is CRAZY to think that those that created this have not been held to account for the repairs. Yes, I understand it has been a long time since, so who do you hold to account?
Surely there is a financial trail leading to a group that has made their profits, and could at least help fund the repairs?

I lived in Tassy for over 30 years now back in Vic, where i was born. BUT i can tell you one thing the Tasmanian ppl are a very nice bunch in most towns & kind hearted.. sure you get the odd A-hole.. but you get that everywhere. & i have kayaked a few rivers, including The Meander, Kimberly & some others.. & some white water rafting @ times.. very laid back place to live 😄

I'm assuming your DNA test was just for animals? Maybe even large animals? I see plants almost to the water's edge and wonder if there is any microbial life in the water, some sort of extremophilic bacteria maybe? Either way you're absolutely right that we do need to do better.

Don't worry about the mine, if there is ounce more copper in there, we will return and mine it, as we need more copper than there is in the world for the "renewables"

how were those Queenstown prices Bodie? stopped there once when i was about 10yo camping with the family. we were on our way to Zehan for the night. mine woulda been in full swing then. Mum said we need bread so dad stopped. Mum went in. came back out without bread. "they wanted $5 a loaf" (in 1985 that was ludicrous) the mining economy had driven up the cost of living in the entire area. (theres my little story)

Tassie politicians are renown for greed and stupidity. They shamelessly have raped the environment for centuries. And they still cut down old growth trees. The King exits into Macquarie Harbour. Years ago I sailed and explored this harbour and right up the Gordon. But the King carried the toxic tailings into the harbour like a sewer building a vast toxic sandbar. And the pristine Harbour is used to intensively breed salmon. Accept they have poured so much nutrient into the harbour that it has at times deoxigenated and the fish have died in their 1000s. And they try to sell Tassie salmon as pure when the bed of the Macquarie is vastly polluted. It's magnificent to visit this wilderness for sure. But the rape and pillage is breath taking. The King no longer looks so polluted. But it's still there.

good video. Tassie is fabulous but being desperate for work is no excuse. And the damage literally lasts for centuries.

There was a government program to remove any vegetation because the mt Lyell mine site was a tourist attraction and they don’t want it covered up . A series of settling ponds in Glover creek would go a long way to help the clean up and wouldn’t cost a fortune ,oh and I like your pvc pipe ruck sack

I absolutely loved this video, thank you Beau! I agree that a truck load of cash and human energy is needed here. Unsure what kind of ongoing offsets/rehab works are imposed on the mining company licenses/permissions if any, but this is truly a worthwhile project for local, state, and federal authorities to take joint responsibility for and encourage community and private involvement to regenerate water quality and biodiversity. It also looks like quite a fun rafting experience if it wasn't so acidic!

Would have been good to get a sample 100m before the rivers merge from the Queen river. To compare, just to have it to have a reading that the more downstream readings can be compared to in the future.

How do we know what lies we've been sold as in terms of what is possible in regards to energy production.

On a semi related note, society just accepted the ban on hemp and then the sale of polyester, no one said a peep. What other incredibly useful things have been banned or hidden away to maintain certain status quo's? Could we have been making cars out of hemp like henry ford? What pressure was put on him to stop? What other sort of conductors are there?
