I understand your point but as a business minded person don’t rely only on Etsy push Etsy and your socials and your website push it all at the same time! Work on yourself more! So if Etsy pulls the plug you have a plan B?

Yep. All this big platforms like etsy, kdp, amazon, etc they feel entitled to take your account with no warning and they won tell you what, where or which was the violation. This is why I don't use any of this "big" platforms because is like building a house on sand or in someone else's land. We have to look and learn how to build strong without this platforms. If a platforms has a "we reserve the right to terminate your account any time" in their policy, Do not upload anything, it will be a loose of time, energy, hardwork, countless hours of editing etc at the end they will just tell you BYE your account is close do to a "violation" which they will never tell you. JUST STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLATFORMS.

Google did same with me. I was selling so many books so they suspended my account to hold up my royalties worth 300 usd

ETSY is a terrible platform, I have never had any idea, until I opened my own shop.... Of course, they deleted all my effort, all my store, I didn't sell there ONE items and they charged a lot of money from me.. ETSY never more.

This is the first time I've seen someone honestly talk about Etsy. I always see people glamorizing this marketplace so much. I had two shops, and in one of them, they decided to permanently remove my most popular and best-selling listings for no reason at all. The situation becomes even more frustrating when you decide to contact them asking for a SPECIFIC reason so you can correct the violation, and they can't tell you what it was. They simply send you a list of possible reasons, and you have to figure it out on your own, even if you've followed all the listed rules.

As for my other shop, it was simply closed because "my country wasn't on the list of allowed countries," even though it is, and I even sent a screenshot as proof. However, they kept responding with pre-programmed messages without actually addressing me as a person to resolve my issue, and saying they couldn't do anything about it.

The shop I managed to keep is now hardly making any profit because they insist on excluding all my best sellers, even though my shop has good reviews. It's ridiculous.

No matter what platform you use to make money you should always use other platforms just in case one goes away

Exactly! Regardless of which platform you use, you are not in control of your own destiny, life, or future... Sad.

I am so glad I didnt go on etsy. I joined facebook groups and they have horrible stories, of copyright and infringement . For the amount of money ETSY makes, they should have rapid customer service on standby. Thanks for sharing this.

I found you through this video first, selling on Etsy but not having too much luck, and i've tried KDP also not much luck. i've been selling online since 1994--first on Ebay for my art paintings for a decade, and back then was digitizing my art onto products on CafePress--but very modest sales, now fast forward 2023, i'm finding out about ai, so looking forward to rising to the stars!

I like how everyone says they're etsy shop was closed for absolutely no reason. Most of you probably never even read the company's terms and conditions, and you violated one or more from the contract you signed.

Out of curiosity: I see so many comments about Etsy stores being shut down. Why are they being shut down in the first place? I can understand legitimate reasons such as copyright violations, which should be avoided no matter what platform is being used. Perhaps there are unfair shutdowns due to fraudulent bad reviews by competition, and perhaps just Karen's in general.

I lost my 3K a month profit etsy store 3 months ago. I have started again using a different bank accountand business name since I changed it. This seems to have gotten around their automatic algorithm. During my first month in the new store I've done 2 sales a day. I'm gonna start calculating profits for the sales that will come in september.

Etsy, they are dirtbags. I was selling an older camera for around $500. It sold rather quickly, but only because they enrolled me (without telling me), my listing off site, on Google. That was a big chunk of money, I lost nearly 30% of my sale to Etsy because of their sneaky ways.

They had auto enrolled me in offsite ads, which I didn't know about until after my item sold. I cancelled my shop right after. Their business practices are sleazy, I still purchase on Etsy only because I buy leather patterns from other vendors, and it's hard to find the variety any where else. But as a seller, they don't care about you. They should be fined by the government or given a poor rating by the BBB. Definitely don't recommend selling with them.

Don’t put all your eggs in the Etsy basket. Swap ‘Etsy’ for any other private company ran platform that have their own rules and you are at the mercy of them.

I have been on Etsy since January. Al I get are likes?? They sell a lot of crap on there. I make fine jewelry and my prices are for gold and platinum.

That's what happened with me on redbubble after 4 months I worked hard and did everything to avoid suspension....my account has been suspended for no reason.tried to communicate with custom service but no solution..it was really disappointing
