India is a developing country. Developing, not developed. It is like many under-developed, third world countries ,e.g. Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, ... India has a large population (more than 85%) who are barely living above the poverty line (relative to a pre-industrialized agrarian society). As such India does not have the ability to build modern weapons (of mass destruction, a la George W. Bush Jr.). So India spends a ridiculous amount of its resource buying outdated weapons from Europe and Russia instead of trying to lift its poor people out of poverty. Unfortunately, this true with all under-developed, third-world countries who have no idea how to create a modern, industrialized society. India, like all third-world countries, can only defend itself against and attack other miserably under-developed, third-world countries. India is at the same stage of development as Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. These 3 Near-Eastern or North-African countries cannot even gang up and defeat a tiny country like Israel who is backed by the developed countries of NATO (a la US). A few well trained Israeli pilots flying the most advanced US fighter jets and the entire Egyptian Air Force is left smoldering on the ground. That is what happens with a bunch of under-developed, third world countries decide to take decisive action. If India or any third-world country would only focus on developing its society that would enable its people to rise out of poverty and into a modern industrialized age then that society would be able to research, develop, and produce its own fighter jets, attack helicopters, and modern tanks. But that is hard. It is easier to let people starve and spend what little resource you have to buy ineffective weapons to satisfy illusions of modernization and a false sense of national pride. It is not my intent to insult India or any other third-world countries. These propaganda videos are as bad as Soviet Era Communist films designed to lie to the world and its own people. It does nothing to motivate third world countries to actually modernize.

India needs to retire these old flighter jets . Just look at around the world Sukhoi 30 mki , mig 29 and rafale are good if we compare to our enemies . Even the Israel have f35 5th gen , china have 5th gen , russia have 5th gen and we know very well USA have f22 raptor the most lethal fighter jet in the world . If we want to keep up these countries India have to work on 5th gen or have to buy 5th gen fighters

We should have knowledge that 36 Rafale stand no chance in front of F16 numbers. We need to learn lessons from Israel which has cutting edge technology.

We don't even have high grade semiconductor development industry. Our electronic war fare is primitive in front of western technology.
