Worst thing about the scene is when he is finally falls asleep from his radiation high. He is starting to whimper in his sleep like a little scared boy.

The admiral is one of the saddest moment of the game, lone man who lost his mind little bit. Coming to think about it all of the npc's stories are unique - the Baron, the admiral, Kirill and his dad even the cannibals. Such an amazing game this is. Best single player fps I have ever played.

Is there a negative consequence to killing the Admiral? I feel bad for him and am debating to end his suffering lol.
Edit: I came to the conclusion that it's better to just kill him and end his suffering.

Everytime I watch this I feel sad and comfort I feel bad for the man he feels lonely his friends are dead but he acts like he alive and that's happy for him I love this game I wish i lived in It i don't care how much hell it would be it makes me calm and its hard to explain

You can see how much of an influence the original Bioshock had on the whole FPS genre. This scene alone is a good example.

I would have loved if one of the corpses slumped on the table and you had to place him back into position for the Admiral. Or at least place the guitar back into the arms of the corps. Missed moral moment opportunity? lol

This oddly reminded me of the scene from The Decline of Western Civilization II documentary, with the rock star drinking an entire fifth of alcohol while sitting on a float in the middle of his pool. What starts as a scene that you expect to be funny becomes incredibly sad.

That raven sounds too much like a person talking then a bird lol. I always just go with a theory I made that it’s a raven that got a mutated voice due to radiation.

It really sucks how there's no good way out of this situation. He will die one way or another, due to the flooding or if you decide to end his misery. I was very tempted to shoot him but that gives bad karma, so I decided not to. If it didn't give bad karma, I most definitely would have shot him. It just seems like the best thing to do. Would you want to be stuck in one room, in a wheelchair, half insane, suffering for the rest of your life?

i just stood there played some music for him and then once he fell asleep I just left, his situation and story was really sad, so i just stood there untill he fell asleep smoking and drinking some tea w him untill he fell asleep, somehow i felt he needed some company

You have to remember he is one of those children who had to grow up in this horrific world. When he falls asleep you can hear him having night terrors, whimpering.

Sad story. I always stick around with him on a playthrough.

I shoot the admiral in the head while he is in sweet dream, i dont want him to wake up to not seeing anyone

I remember this moment, I was annoyed and angry at this admiral. But as I sat there, hearing the man, boy really, my anger just faded. These really were all just boys and girls. The guitar playing is what in the end just let me walk out of there. Didn't shoot the guy, didn't even try to loot him. I just finished my tea and left. The Admiral forever remains in my memory, and I hope the other kids were able to get him out of there before the dam bursts.

I like the developer's have time for this. Listening to an insane admiral then start's hanging out with him smoking, drinking and even play a guitar.

killing the admiral shouldn't have reduced your karma. nor should it increase it.
it was a mercy killing. i sit with him playing the guitar as he slowly falls asleep talking about better times, and he slips away with the optimistic hope that he'll get a new friend, never having to awake to find out he's alone again.

I played this game 2 whole times and ended his suffering on each walkthrough with a single shot to the head. Couldnt stand his pain…

The best part of the game in my opinion. I genuinely felt bad for him.

For this guy to continue rabbling on and on made sense. He had no real souls to talk to and he's glad to see a non hostile company. Unlike Olga where it feels like I was given a chat I didn't really care but stick around to hear it anyway for me to realize she's talking about the lore.

This scene also reminds me of the time SpongeBob Boss Mr. Krab lost His million dollar and when he was starting to go insane the crewmates which was SpongeBob and Squidward was going to abandoned him, only for Krabs to tied them up used them as Baits. I didn't want to try getting up after I sat down when I realize he had lost his mind.

What happens if you wake for him to wake up after he goes to sleep or does he just stay sleeping for the rest of the game
