Finally GREAT Performance in CYBERPUNK 2077 on Steam Deck

Thank you so much for this video, over the past couple months I've played around with the settings so much alongside the fsr 2.0 mod and more recently the official fsr 2.1. Following your guide is the smoothest FPS I've been able to get whilst still looking good! One thing I did change was turn the resolution down to 1152x720, put it into windowed borderless and put the decks built-in FSR onto 3 sharpness (still keeping in game FSR 2.1 on quality). It makes it look a bit clearer than the native resolution, I know it sounds stupid but give it a try!

Thing is, you CAN mod games on the Steam Deck. With the right performance enhancing mods(If they actually exist, I'm not sure) you can definitely get more FPS out of the game.

I did everything as you mentioned, my game had lot of stutters and difficulties to keep 40fps.
I swap the uma buffer size back to 1 instead of 4GB as recommended by cryo.
Since, the game runs like a charm.
I also undervolt the steam deck to 40/30/30.

I just wanted to say thank you. These settings have given me 40fps consistently and seem to work for 2.0. Would love to see an updated video for Golden 40 for 2.0 though, thanks again - massively appreciated these settings!

After using your settings the text is blurry. Any fix? Fps is very good.

These work wonderfully on the Ally: a steady 60FPS wherever I go at 720p 😄

Hey, habe gerade dein Cyberpunk Video gesehen und finde es wirklich gut gemacht. Doch es ist schade, dass du es nicht in Deutsch ein spielst. Ich kann etwas englisch aber verstehe bei weitem nicht alles. Auch ich würde gerne wissen, wie sich das Ganze verhält und deine Videos noch besser verstehen wäre echt toll, wenn du mal auf Deutsch ein grundsätzliches Video ein spielst, was den Steam Deck behandelt. “Golden 40” preset didn’t produce 40fps for me. Switching FSR to “balanced” from “quality” did the trick and it still looks quite good.

I’m barely getting half the fps of yours with the golden 40 settings any advice?

I dont know why, but these settings arent working with my Steam deck. Still have around 25 fps, sometimes even below 20... is my SD retarded or what?

After some experimenting today I noticed something strange or it might be common knowledge to others..... However today I used your settings in conjunction with my steam deck whilst it was docked... I was getting a consistent 60fps sometimes dipping but never below 35.... The GPU was 90-98%..... and looks and plays fantastic...

However undocked I get 40fps and the GPU runs at 90-98%...

So my question is why??? Why can't the deck on its own handle 60fps and then when docked is just fabulous...

Would dropping the FSR to balanced on the Golden 40 preset help with those minor dips?

This doesn't work for me at all, getting like 25fps in vehicles with this settings, rarely sits at 40fps. Do you think its because I'm running it from an sd card?

I wonder if the steam deck would be capable of loading set quality and performance profiles for video games so we don't have to fidget with all these settings. Just load a performance profile and go.

How did you go through the entire video without addressing the fact that your Golden 40 settings makes most text in-game barely readable? The blurring of text is a total deal breaker for me so I was hugely disappointed after trying the 40-settings.

What are everyone's temps like? My Deck gets into the 90s after about 30 minutes.

I copied the settings but don’t see anything about a texture level to set to medium? And after copying settings and starting game I’m only getting 30 frames help

I can't believe I'm finally getting good performance. I literally thought my Deck was defective since I saw all these videos of buttery gameplay but I was getting like 20 fps. You just doubled my framerate and it looks great.

I’m an older guy, 57, and thought I had a pretty good technical knowledge but try to optimize games on steam deck is way over my head lol but you are helping so much. Keep up the great work.

I've noticed very quickly that high frame rate isn't super important on the deck, 30fps is more than enough since the screen is so small

I got the gog version and it plays good at 40 but i see alot of low 30s / mid 20's flickering. do you think this is because i dont have the steam version? how often are you locked at 30? When i go into clubs im dropping down to high 20's for instance. Just not sure if its worth buying the steam version. I do have it installed on sd + the vram tweaks too. but can we honestly say its the different?

These settings are amazing considering what we have to work with on the Steam Deck. I've been playing all evening and your settings are the best damn settings I've tried so far. It's amazing we can do what we can do inside a compatibility layer, with so little resources. It's amazing we can even get some games to run, let alone playable like this.
