I cannot thank Mayor Dutil enough -- he spent two hours giving me a tour of Stanstead and the border, and this video wouldn't look half as good without all his help. He also talked to border control when they arrived and asked why I was filming...!
ОтветитьI understand that there is a boundary between countries, at least on paper there, and that there is the letter of the law. But how many people have actually been arrested for crossing that line in Roberts? I bet the number is zero for the actual residents
ОтветитьWhat happens if you breathe American oxygen at border line do they get hostile?
ОтветитьI can imagine that scene from Back To The Future 2 Where 1955 Biff takes the kids ball. But he throws it across this street. "You want your ball? GO GET IT! HA! HA! HA!"
ОтветитьI have to say it's quite fitting for there to be a footpath on the Canadian side and not the US's side.
ОтветитьWhi gives a crap
Ответитьa dumb species we are 😂
ОтветитьI guess it is known as a one way street for each lane , for each country would that be correct
ОтветитьShouldn't that be fenced off, between Canada and the US? That's international border. So, it would make sense to fence it off. At least, on the outside of businesses, homes, etc., rather, between.
ОтветитьThey need to build a wall and make Canada pay for it.
Ответитьi remember being able to cross the canadian-US boarder without a passport, just the id of whatever country you belonged to, times were still safe back then, i wish we could one day return to that leniency, but sadly i only see that rationally happening by the countries joining as one
ОтветитьThat shows nothing but the stupidity of bureaucrats on both sides. I can imagine how Canadians and US-Americans like each other, when I watch "Border Control". Canada and the US exist since two centuries ( and a bit more...). Thru all these yrs. there had not been any kinda way to find a reasonable solution for the citzens of that little village/ town...??? A border going thru houses, thru streets...the risk of getting arrested when crossing one of those stupid lines...it´s more than ridiculous...!!!
ОтветитьHow many Hamas tunnels does it have underneath it now?
ОтветитьCrazy that this exists. We are allies
ОтветитьImagine a world where we let imaginary lines divide us.
ОтветитьJust be a dual and have both passports with u 24/7
ОтветитьThat's like living in a house where the bathroom is in a different zipcode.
ОтветитьMeanwhile in Europe: Schengen
ОтветитьAs an European person this is so ridiculous. I don't even understand why the US and Canada don't have an open border agreement. I can understand that it's different for the southern border with Mexico but why Canada? Also Canada is a very small country by population. All around the Schengen area such situations are normal and nothing special but even with Switzerland you can cross the border just by foot without any trouble.
ОтветитьImagain just totching the line.
ОтветитьReminds me of NRK99 they believe in no borders no counties no governments, its all free world.
ОтветитьPlaces like this remind me of college: you think it's gonna be a wild ride, full of adventures and interesting facts, while in reality, you're in for a whole day in company of infantile twirps, trying to enforce their makebeliefs on you.
ОтветитьI guess I should drop my plans to buy a house around this area then! Too sad
ОтветитьI have heard eveything
ОтветитьWe're intoxicated on make believe.
ОтветитьI'll run back-n-forth on purpose!
ОтветитьImagine playing a prank and splitting a road across 2 countries
ОтветитьYou really need a Schengen type agreement
ОтветитьThat is a very nice interesting place. It must be exciting to live there. I wish I would live there!
ОтветитьI used to load seed soybeans right on the border in North Dakota. The bins were right on the line.
Ответитьi was born an american and canadian citizen so this probably wouldnt be an issue for me
Ответитьif i have really good friend accross as my neighbor, i would just connect both of our basements through a tunnel :)
ОтветитьThat would suck if you lived in a house on one side and your job just across the street is in another country.
ОтветитьIf you're ever out in British Columbia, you can check out an 18 mile stretch of Highway 0, that runs from the Peace Arch park, right beside the US/Canada border, going east. The entire stretch is on the Canadian side, but as you drive, you'll see the US/Canada border markers, just off the side of the asphalt on the south side of the road. The - often unfenced - backyards of homes north of Blaine Washington - on the south side, and homes and farms east of Vancouver in Canada.
There's also Point Roberts (Washington) south of Delta BC, where Americans have to go into Canada and drive about 25 miles to get to a border crossing into Washington State near the Peace Arch as it's essentially "land locked". (Or take a boat I suppose.)
They should have an in-town special visa for town residence for both sides of the border. This is ridiculously stupid.
ОтветитьCanada and USA should allow people near the border to say hi to their friends.
ОтветитьWhat if you accidentally tripped and fell on the other side
ОтветитьYou should also make a video about the Peace Arch and the Park near Vancouver where Canadians and Americans can meet.
ОтветитьDrunk surveyors 😂
Ответитьyou can’t walk right into Canada as a American or vice versa? This is unbelievable
ОтветитьIf I wanna go see my neighbor who’s gunna stop me. All you gotta do is cross when there’s no cops
ОтветитьDual citizenship 😅
ОтветитьTruly fascinating
ОтветитьOkay
ОтветитьWish the west would separate from Canada
ОтветитьBorder cities are a pain in the butt.
ОтветитьLaws need to be rewritten or eliminated as the times and lay of the lands change
ОтветитьThe Canada US boarder is just stupid. Why is it a big deal AT ALL, ESPECIALLY for a town like this. A town like this should just be free to cross. Europe has the right idea, No boarder checkpoints or anything. This is just stupid
ОтветитьThis is made all the more difficult because Canada is not a real country.
