How to Install Linux Mint on VMware Virtual Machine

I'm new to this and trying to get mint. When I downloaded I got a zip file and I see no .iso contained inside?

can't start installation. the window opens then closes. what can i do?

Important steps are missing: how to install VMware tools? How to use "unity" (the possibility to merge the host and guest GUIs) ?

While installing it asks for Erasing data that will erase whole data on that drive. What should i do then? i want my data on That drive + mint linux
