Legion Slim 7i Review: My Favorite Laptop in 2023?

Can you solve battery hot issue ?

Lenovo pro 9i and yoga 9i is definitely on the better side for Intel laptops. I like the low fan noise and build quality. The 7i is a tier below it.

I have the AMD version. The keybord keys W+E+S sounds hollow, drives me nuts when typing. Premium price with non premium keybord feeling.

with this cost we can buy macbook over this laptop right ???

Wish I kept my i7 slim from last year but nooo. Had to go for qhd. Dam thing stays docked anyway.

I like how you present the different products. But it seems that the only way to get a silent and well balanced performance is to buy a MacBook.

Warning to anyone considering buying the Legion Slim 7 Gen 8 (AMD) variant. I purchased this laptop directly from Lenovo and mine came faulty brand new out of the box. The entire left side of the screen has a ghostly afterimage (image persistence I believe) which makes the laptop an absolute pain to use.

Lenovo customer service was not helpful in coming up with a resolution, so I'll be returning this laptop and buying a MacBook instead.

Is the Legion Pro 7i RAM and SSD upgradable? If so, what is the maximum?

Just got this one on sale as I am a developer who does some ML now with Python … this machine is amazing, added a pro 990 SSD and crucial 32gb ddr5 stick and she is absolutely screaming

which option is better to choose in legion slim 7i - i7 13700h or i9 13900h, which will be the future proof and budget friendly?

I have been using MacBooks for over a decade and have been an Android user for just as long. Because I'm tired of the friction Apple creates between their products and everyone else's, I'm on the hunt for a Windows laptop. I appreciate all the information you've given. It most definitely helps in making a decision.

As a Samsung user with phones, TVs, tablets, watches, and Smartthings accessories, I'm also looking at Samsung laptops but I'm keeping my options open.

if it had a 4080 option, I would definetly pay 2,k- 2,5k€ for this one (and with AMD CPU)...

- Slim 7i Gen 8 Intel (16″) with up to RTX 4070 with i9-13900H Processor (2000€)

there is no ethernet lan port you should tell that.

"weird people who like a number pad". that's me. I only buy laptops with number pads as I mainly use it at home. Your review has solidified my decision to buy it.

Take a second and take a breath so you don't sound like you are drowning and gasping for your last breath. It's loud and annoying. More annoying than the over animated hand movements even.

could you do another comparison between Legion Slim 7 2023 and Legion Slim 7i 2023?

I'd also choose yoga pro 9i over legion slim 7 if they're in the same price range. However I can purchase the slim 7(AMD variant with rtx 4060) at around 1650 Euro(1500 to Lenovo and 150 for SSD and RAM on Amazon), whereas the yoga pro 9i costs 2500 Euro. Obviously i9 is faster but the price gap is too hard to swallow...

My Slim 7 4060 QHD screen got dark edges and therefore not perfect screen uniformity...does yours too? Want a sample data before I return it.. thanks!

Please review the amd version!! It’s such a greater value prospect. I got mine with 32gb ram, 3.2k screen, 4060 for just 1340usd on 20% discount. (got to remove windows on the Swedish build your own)

I cannot find anything that even comes close to this performance+features for that price! As a computer science student who occasionally games it’s perfect

An extra 16gigs or Ram really boost the performance alot!

Funny thing is the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with Ryzen 7745HX has an amazingly color accurate and bright HDR 400/500Nit+ 2560X1600 screen. Interesting.

Thanks for noting that in the real world people who work and have credit are the ones buying these, not 16-21 year olds. Myself and many of my coworkers at software startups are the ones who look at and use laptops like this not just to play video games all day. These are for Mobile work in Graphic Design/Web Design and Programming and 3D Editing software. And of course the occasional gaming if you don't already have a desktop or console device for playing a "video game".

Hi ,if isn't for battery life and all with 4060,Slim 5 /7-7840hs vs Pro 5-7745HX witch is a all in all a better laptop at the same price , or really worth Pro 5-7945HX for 180£ extra?

I think u should compare legion slim 7i with hp omen transcend 16 both are in same portable + powerful pc class

The current pricing for this exact laptop is $1749 though, which seems well worth its price.

Bought last month. Its a beast🔥. Yes it gets hot because of its slim factor but trust me for the next 4-5 yrs no issue at all. Lenovo have killed it with the Legion series.

Lenovo is a Chinese state owned company.
and its laptops have a history of pre-installed bloatware (loads of them!!) and spyware like superfish.
If you are the kind of person who wants to:
1. fund the chinese communist dictatorship,
2. wants to be censored by the chinese government,
3. does not care about personal pravicy,
4. wants a laptop that preloaded with rafts of ad-ware and bloatware,
then lenovo's laptops are perfect for you;-)

I'm curious how this compares with the Lenovo Y9000X....
