When I do this there is space between all the clips. In your video the videos are still next to each other after setting the time. How do I do this?

Confusing UI. I wish FCPX just exposed the clip duration in the properties pane, the same way transform position and scale are shown.

Do you know a way to add 2 second to multiple clips when they have different durations? 
For example you have a sequence: clip_1: 2s, clip_2: 3s, clip_3: 7s -> (add 2s to each) -> clip_1: 4s, clip_2: 5s, clip_3: 9s

ctrl+D, I type in the duration and it simply does nothing. What am I missing?

One thing that confused me is that you DON'T click in the area where the duration is shown, you enter the length of time after you do control D, and do not click into the time reading, if you do, it doesn't work at all. You simply do control-D and THEN just type without clicking into anything and it will change all the lengths after hit RETURN, Very confusing,,,,
