A few things that Mike doesn’t have right:
1) Hong Kong was NEVER a democracy. Even under UK rule the HK people were not allowed to vote. The British govt just assigned a “Chief Executive”. British Govt also took substantial tax revenues and put them into UK.
2) Taiwan is NOT a US ally. Interesting how Mike doesn’t know that and couldn’t explain why we care so much about Taiwan besides chips.
Taiwan belongs to China, so does the South China Sea. It's because of the Globalized Economy which China dominates. We're ignoring important trading partners in our own hemisphere. Instead of buying Chinese goods why don't we buy EV's from Mexico or Columbia? The cost of transporting Chinese Cargo Ships is enormous. Ecologically speaking it's much better for the US to stick with nearby Countries. The potential US War with China is all about World Control by the US. US Imperialism will start WWIII. The US are NOT the Good Guys any more. Not since our WWII victory.
ОтветитьCIA propaganda. DOAC is BS
ОтветитьThe worse guest in this channel, disappointed 👎🏻
ОтветитьMy gosh. This guy again!!!
ОтветитьThere's green berets in Taiwan right now training troops on the outlying islands of Kinmen and Matsu
ОтветитьThis dude is CIA so he’s probably lying. The dude interviewing him is probably CIA too.
ОтветитьFor 90 years, Taiwan has had its own government, own flag, own military, own currency, own written language, own police, own post office, own school system, own passports, own diplomatic relations. Taiwan is a free & independent nation.
ОтветитьHongkong was never a democracy
ОтветитьThis guy chats shit, he is exactly like kreese from cobra kai.. an arse who just want to fight
ОтветитьMike is spewing policy narrative propaganda. HK was never a democracy. Taiwan has always been China's, it's not because China think's it's theirs. People who do not study history are doomed to repeat it, but in this case since the policy is forever wars, maybe the intention of doom is on purpose.
ОтветитьAmerican interest is always economic.
ОтветитьLol, only China really knows what China's plan is. Whatever the plan is there's little America can do to prevent it. Talking about democracy America is a for profit only lobbied to Corporate Oligarchy masquerading as a democracy!
Ответить1. South China Sea is the most important trade route for China to protect as the world factory; 2. China built the first artificial island after Vietnam started building many of them 11 years earlier; 3. The shoals that the Philipines claimed to be in their EEZ have been administrated by the Chinese governments way before the Philipines became a country.
ОтветитьUse to be democracy in HK??? when did this use to be the case???? when the British ruled hk, chinese weren't even allowed to live in certain districts because it was under British rule! HK is so much better now under chinese rule!!
ОтветитьWhat is the point in having a ex CIA spy talk about Taiwan when its the very same entity (CIA and Deep state) causing and creating consent to go to war with a peaceful country and using Taiwan as pawn to increase profits and power within the US at the expense of Chinese people in China and Taiwan????
ОтветитьThis guy obviously knows zero about Taiwan/China.
ОтветитьDon't talk about China's 2049 from the current perspective, China's goal in 2049 is to become a world leader in any aspect, including scientific theoretical research, all the problems now will be overcome by 2035, China's growth history from 70 years ago, the world's poorest agricultural country, through the accumulation of technology, to create economic growth, The decline of the US is caused by the long-term decline of education and manufacturing industry and the governance model. China's catch-up is to make up for these shortcomings and improve according to its own situation, which does not mean that China will always lag behind the US, which obtains resources from the world and creates the slowest growth.🤦♀️
ОтветитьI have some Taiwanese friends who don’t believe the US’s ‘democracy’ bullshit for one second. They’re very clear headed on the situation. That is, AVOID WAR AT ALL COST.
ОтветитьThe problem as I see it is that in less than 10 years, the PRC will no longer exist as a unified industrial nation state!
ОтветитьSeparatist?......the ROC has existed longer than the PRC.
Ответить"There used to be democracy in Hong Kong" is the biggest lie, and you have just amplified and repeated this lie. Congratulations for perpetuating the CIA talking points and narrative. Then you go on to ask ‘why would China want Taiwan’. He answered by saying the quiet part out loud - Taiwan’s chip manufacturing. Defending democracy is the biggest bunch of disinformation ever. Apart from access to chips, it is clear that Taiwan is of strategic importance to the continued hegemony of the US as a means to "contain" the rise of China, which is a big threat to the US, even though they have no business being there. The bullsh*t this guy is peddling is one of the best expenditures of the US anti-China propaganda fund I’ve seen recently. The reunification of China and Taiwan has always been their position, and this was even supported by successive US administrations. Now that China is on the cusp of unseating the US economically, all of a sudden we get these narratives being pushed on us via channels like yours that were once perceived to be objective and impartial. Hope you enjoy the profits of selling out your integrity.
ОтветитьSuch a complex topic to be canvassed during such a short interview, loaded with questions which encompasses an enormous amount of "what is", "what isn't", "what might be" and "what if".
This is presented to a guy who's only got a limited (although still vast) amount of knowledge.
In general terms, the PRC seems to consider that any territory which once belonged to mainland China still belongs to mainland China, just as (it seems) that any person born in China is their property.
Hong Kong was acquired by the British under dubious circumstances and the PRC appears (to be) hell bent on ensuring that it had always been the territory of mainland China and that it had only been leased.
On the topic of Taiwan, a brief historical introduction in relation to the (1895) Republic of Formosa could help some viewers out a little.
This guy is spot on... I agree with his analysis. I've been saying for over 6 months now Tiwari needs to move it's Chip infrastructure to the USA and be run by the tiawanes government with tiawanes employees only. This would completely spoil the CCP s takeover of Taiwan.
ОтветитьHey man, this is CIA talking like they always do. Constructing a big propaganda story about something true and stuff it like a Christmas turkey with a bunch of fake stories about a threatening enemy that we all should hate and fear. Classic old school CIA narrative. 🤣 CIA will love you and leave you alone for this which is good for your security in the future though.
ОтветитьOnce a spy, always a spy... Once a liar, always a liar...
ОтветитьLmao so much bullshit coming out of his mouth.
ОтветитьSet design needs a little more care.
ОтветитьMike Baker - for those who don't know his role in the 80s in the CIA was crucial. He actually worked at the main headquarters. He was stationed at the parking gate. His job was to lift the ramp and let the cars in and out of the parking lot. In 1987 he was laid off when they installed a remotely operated ramp.
ОтветитьEx Cia.... oh ok he must be telling the truth then.
ОтветитьFirst it was 2028, not it's 2049?
ОтветитьGringo CIA mentality. There are some talented people I’m sure. But this guy represents 80% of most agents who think the world is or thinks like a gringo. You can spot these with their fanny packs and their Hawaiian shirt and cameras at you local European Macdonald while conducting their intelligence work. 📸🍔🫵🏻
ОтветитьDemocracy? 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьRegarding Taiwan, this guy doesn’t have a good read on the people of Taiwan. These days, they do view themselves as Taiwanese. His other explanations are clear as mud. We could have used more specific explanations of geopolitics rather than emotional platitudes.
ОтветитьWhy Don't They ...
... FOCUS on Drug Problem In USA.
hong kong had democracy before? for so called cia guy, he is pretty poorly educated😂 this is your expert then you are a scam
Ответитьthe black host is excused - he is black after all and gets a hall pass
ОтветитьSorry, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about regarding Taiwan. Taiwan's official name is actually 中华国民 - Zhong Hua Guo Ming - the Republic of China. Which was the official name of all of China until the communists took over. Taiwan is a shorthand for the island because that is all the nationalists maintained control of. Chiang Kai-shek was not a separatist. He was a nationalist. The Kuomintang (KMT) is literally the Chinese Nationalist Party. They retreated to Taiwan. The separatists and Taiwanese nationalists evolved and gained power over time as the KMT weakened, especially after real democracy took hold in the 1990s. Eventually, the "separatist parties" and the "nationalists" gave up on trying to retake Mainland China and understood the idea was ridiculous, and so now are focused on Taiwan, as most people who live on the island were born on the island, especially those under 70 years old. This is very complicated...there is still a small minority (but often well-connected, older, and wealthier) minority who want to maintain a "Chinese national identity" and understand that the only way that will happen is reunification with China in some way, and they want that, under some deal, but most Taiwanese today want independence for Taiwan. However, they also don't want a war. Mainland China (Beijing) considers any official move toward independence as an act of war. China sees Taiwan as the only place not unified under the Communist Party. So it is like in the American Civil War, if Florida or Texas stayed independent of Washington D.C. in all but name, and everyone in Texas pretends to still be American. Still, in reality, they just see themselves as Texans, however so they don' have a war, they just say "we are Americans, but under a different "American government"“。
Why should we care about Taiwan? First, it produces irreplaceable, very high-end semiconductor chips. It doesn't own the designs, but it manufactures them (OEM).
Second, control of Taiwan would allow forces to block the Taiwan Strait and build a massive base on Taiwan, which borders Japan and the Philippines. If they control Taiwan, they can more easily cut off Japan and South Korea and force any resupply to go around the Philippines or from Guam. This will likely force America out of the South China Sea, the most lucrative oceanic trading route on Earth. Do you want to trust China to control it by itself? If they do, they will also control Southeast Asia, as we are largely pushed out.
Vietnam (2.5 million casualties). Afghanistan (176,000 casualties). Ukraine (500,000 casualties). “Taiwan, you wanna join?” “No”
ОтветитьDefending democracy? 「The problem with democracy is that you have to be a liar to get elected」
ОтветитьMeunyo Hana cina donyA anco😗
ОтветитьTaiwan is a easy sale because Taiwan takes Chinese cash and they are in debt just like the USA is in debt its a cluster fuck democracy
ОтветитьI am guessing he is part of the $1.6 billion propaganda. At least he is doing it for his pocket and of course for national security.
ОтветитьHis operation Joe slogan backfired now Joe spews pure Russian propaganda.
ОтветитьThe young fellow comprehends the geopolitical issues much better than 90% of his colleagues, but evidently feels constrained to stick to the script.
ОтветитьDumbass! Trump had troops in Tawain while in office!
Troops aren’t needed! A naval blockade would be adequate
Israel has rights to self-defense
ОтветитьSetting aside all reasons, China wouldn't be as concerned about Taiwan acquiring genuine independence if the US weren't' so belligerent. A truly independent Taiwan, allied with the US and armed by it would be sn indisputably existential threat to China.
ОтветитьForget Taiwan. Its not worth having the world destroyed by nukes
Ответить
