what do i do if it says disk was not found in your cd driver

So what happened to the video regarding installing Need for Speed II SE? Did you delete it because the method doesn't work anymore? If that's the case, I don't supposed you could make a new updated version in time?

On windows 10 this worked well , my new rig is windows 11 , Yesterday I install game just fine , on test sound sound worked , game installed no sound at all so I uninstall game and today game will not install crash at test sound part in the install setup . Also will not install off disk but will install from extracted to a file .

Great tutorial 77vids ! at the Sound install 3.30 the screen is just getting black when i test the sound and the install needs to restart. i can only pass this if i chose None at the sound install. what is wrong ?

abandon ware sites have the 95 and 96 games

I downloaded the game from Abandonware, both the ZIP and ISO versions. The installation went fine but when I open the game it crashes.

Not letting me click the 'Next' button after the game mounts/installs. The prompt that's supposed to launch the install program. I can move the cursor around but it won't let me click the "Next" box. Almost like it's frozen but it's not "Not Responding". I try and tab out and tab back in and it doesn't let me tab back into it until eventually it stops responding and then I have to task manager it.

Also ensure that you have enough CPU Cycles.
The Auto setting of dosbox for cpu cycles gave ingame way too less cpu cycles which causes the game to have only about 30fps.
If I set them myself to 200000 cycles the game runs flat on 60fps.

You should add UNIVBE, otherwise not only the installer test video is broken. The car showcase and winning videoclips will be broken too.
So you should use UNIVBE. EA paid the license for that program and its in your game folder.

univbe.exe -d1 -m16384
and in dosbox.conf
machine=svga_et4000

This emulates a SVGA ET4000 with 16 MB VRAM and also fixes the videoclips.
Of course also set that 16 MB VRAM here
vmemsize=16

Excellent guide. LaunchBox installation seemed sketchier than usual software, but it works great. Joystick configuration was iffy (I'm using a PlayStation Classic controller). I disabled joystick support in the DOSBox configuration and just used Xpadder to map it to the keyboard. No issues now.

Game runs perfectly, and it feels much better with a controller compared to the keyboard. Thank you for this quick & simple guide!

Do you know a emulation program that isn’t a virus so I can use my PS2 version on PC or do I have to emulate all controls myself?
