Taylor Sittler, MD, is science advisor for Levels, a health tech company using continuous glucose monitoring to help people discover how diet and lifestyle choices impact their metabolic functioning.

One of his main interests is the science of resilience, which he defines as the ability to withstand and recover from life's stressors.

While psychologists think about emotional resilience, Dr Sittler is looking at the whole package, from how we deal with negative events to how we respond to particular foods and physical challenges.

In our conversation, we look at how we can increase our resilience on the physical level. What to eat, when to eat, and when to stop eating. How to think about workouts, rest, and recovery.

And the ways we can use knowledge of our glucose levels to optimize our resilience.
