If you open the hub door on this map, you can go back to level 188(or what this game says in level 188)with the 0 hub door.
If you bring a crowbar(can be found easily in level 4) you will find that the vent leads to the dark room in the real level 0.

can someone please tell me the official name of the creature on level 0. I have not found anything official anywhere else.

One question does the switches save if you die?

You should've just go back to the hub, get crowbar at the office, and comeback to this level 188 for a vent.

Also, other consumable does give you sanity boost too, just small amount.
