Aqara M2 Hub for HomeKit

I started down the Aqara path"………..and after 4 weeks I have realized I made a mistake. The sensors are all way dropping off Line…..WFT. Mistake realized moving on from Aqara. Who wants a season ALLWAYS dropping off line

So I just picked up the M2. I also have a SmartThings hub and I use HomeKit can an Aqara wireless button ton control a TP link, smart plug that is available in HomeKit or SmartThings? I have smart thing buttons, but the batteries in these buttons will literally die in a week. I was hoping to use the Aqara button with some of my existing smart plugs, is that possible?

Thought I could use this with my fireplace remote unfortunately unfortunately it doesn’t seem that I can

Hey, Shane! I’m currently thinking about getting the Aqara G4 and U100, which means I also need to get a hub. Does it matter whether I get the M1S vs. this M2 hub for the lock and doorbell?

m1s has never made any alert triggers sounds for me. The sounds work when I set them up through the app (and when arming/disarming), but when the guards actually trigger, it only flashes lights and all the sounds come through iphone/mac/watches.

Is this the same as the MI Smart Home Hub?

I don’t quite get it. If I have the M2 connected permanently in line of site with my Aircon, will I be able to control my air remotely?

I just added mine today. Can you use the IR devices in HomeKit? Just added a fan that I would love in HomeKit.

I'm going to install one of these setups but run the hub off a power bank with charge passthrough. For the siren I'll take your trick of using an Amazon sired, but pair it with a 20Ah 12V battery, and a 5V stepdown for a hacked up smart plug (basically turning the smart plug into a homekit controlled 12V relay). This will stop a burglar simply turning off my power which would kill the siren.

Hi, great video. What would you suggest for a newbie in 2023 when Matter starts to roll out. I have homepod mini and Yale Linus with Yale bridge, and that’s it. Is Aqara M2 the best IR remote for siri shortcuts, or is there any solution for Matter ir remote? Also what about RF remotes? Are there anything on the market? I have a lot of RF controlled outlets, and would love to get those to work with homekit. Do you have any tips? Thanks in advance!

Hey there I have installed M2 and led 2 sensors wireless button and smoke alarm. However, both sensors does not appear in my HomeKit, I was only able to see my hub M2 in Apple home app. Do you know why.

Can the M2 + Motion Sensor P1 be config so that when it only plays the alarm (from the M2) when it detects motion between a certain period (for example, 1am - 5am) of time?

Is the hub only to connect the accessories to? The reason I’m asking is I have 2 Aqara cameras, both have 3 accessories linked to them. The issue is, the minute you change WiFi, or change WiFi password, or anything like that, everything’s offline. There’s no way to go into the Aqara app and update the password. The only option is remove the devices from the Aqara app and HomeKit and add them all over again. Very painful. What I’m trying to understand is will the cameras also connect to the hub? My hope is that as the hub can be connected by Ethernet the cameras won’t reply in the WiFi details. Thanks

Aqara app is crap, parcial devices compatible only on certain servers. Can you use homekit with it without any apple hub?

Can I connect non Aqara zigbee devices to the hub to control them?

I am about to create a home alarm system with these products and I have a question. I case some one breaks in, by nature your eye would search for the alarm sound the the unit will sound! A reflex would be to rip it down and throw it into a wall or something .. would this silence the alarm and disconnect it?? Also if the wifi goes down in the house would the alarm still be functioning??

This is probably not gonna get answered but I have a M1 hub and i wanna get the M2 hub. Can i use both hubs as a security system so when the alarm gets triggered can both hubs get triggered?

Not sure if this is the video you discussed this in, I watched a bunch of yours today. I just ordered a bunch of Aqara stuff.

I had an idea regarding the volume of the security alarm sound and how you suggested buying a cheap alarm horn (or whatever) and wiring it to a smart plug.

What about setting up an automation to play an alarm sound from a HomePod?
