On the one hand, I hate it when main characters are killed (like, really hate it); on the other hand, there is something so bittersweet about them dying in the act of conquering evil, especially their own evil.

I’m sad that people thought these movies were bad yes there are some moments and aspects that aren’t the best but at the heart of it
It still feels like LOTR
It’s still Tolkien

I couldn't stand watching the Hobbit trilogy mainly because of this dude. His acting is mediocre and feels waay too forced. P.s. I think the entire trilogy stinks too and he's definitely one of the main reasons.

Thorin and Boromir were always my favorite because they were the most realistic. Its hesrt breaking but true heroism usually comes off the heels of your biggest failures.

been replaying this so often lately cause such a wonderful but sad tribute for thorin, and today again watching it reminded me what a friend said about how kili died thinking thorin would survive the battle, and thorin died thinking/hoping kili would survive 🥲😭
