What are your favorite and least favorite familiars?

You don't have to complete every game. I don't think a game like that is meant to be 100% it's your fault not the games's.

Collecting all the familiars wasn't even as hard as getting the items for that fucking ax

I so did not expect 252 hours for a completionist run on this...holy crap, it didn't even take me that long to run through the Final Fantasy X HD Collection, and that's a whole lot of game.

I was definitely like that at 13. I didn't have a wild streak until 16.

I played this game for 20+ hours. I tried desperately to like it being such a big Ghibli fan, but the story was too simple, the familiars were too cutesy for my taste for the most part, and the combat seemed to obtuse. It almost would've been better as a turn-based system or real-time w/ pause as opposed to the real-time menu clicking sim that it turns out to be. The overworld is also not that inspiring. Couldn't help but feel like there was a whole lot of emptiness between bland levels. Yet again I try and fail to get engrossed in a JRPG other than Pokemon.

I will never finish this game because the combat is too much of an ass

This was one where I never got around to completing it despite how much I enjoyed it but man unlike so many other games (Fable for example) where the tutorial area first hourish of the game is so bad it makes wanting to replay go down having to deal with it, the start of this game while similar gameplay wise at least gives off major Studio Ghibli vibes. When I originally played it I didn't know Studio Ghibli had a hand in it and that first hour of the game was like "This feels like I am playing Spirited Away between the art style, the story telling, even the story structure, this feels like if Spirited Away's universe was turned into a interactive movie"

That's what I needed to hear at the end, after about 90 hours of gameplay my journey comes to an end. While I did not complete it entirely its been a lot of fun and memories were made.

I commend you for complaining this game and putting up with RNG system; the only thing that kept me from completing the game

Ni no Kuni wanted to be Dragon Quest 8 sooo bad

Like the other comments on the defend mechanism, i would love to just press 1 button to immidietly defend but i have to scroll and i loose time when big bosses attack me to quick and i die lol. Anyways besides that issue this game is just peak art and fun for anybody who plays this. Absoluetly love this game.

Correction: Hidden chests in the overworld can be searched for and found without the Search Fortune spell. Simply open your Wizard's Companion upon learning the lay of the land in that area (which is done by sleeping at the local Cat's Cradle inn), go to "Chapter 7: Regions of the World" and look at the map closely. You will find keyholes drawn all over the map. If you go to the spots where those keyholes are drawn and search the area with your interaction button or key, you will find the hidden treasure! Note that this is also a good way to find clearings where forest dwellers, uh... dwell. Those are marked as spades on the map.

It's no surprise why this game is so beautiful, Studio Ghibli's artstyle is incredible. I didn't even know until a while ago that it was animated by Studio Ghibli, but it's obvious now that I know.

All the hidden chests you find with the Find Fortune spell are already marked in your Wizard Companion on the map pages. Most of the alchemy recipes are already in there as well even if you haven't unlocked them.

Dragon quest 8 😩 first game ive ever played and still one if the best ive ever played

Sounds like the monster system is more like Dragon Quest 5 inspired than pokemon. I know we didn't get that one in the west at the time but it was a popular influence in Japanese games after it came out. Monster recruitment RPG years before pokemon.

He claims that the game goes full Bambi with Oliver's mom dying at the beginning. However, I've never cried while watching Bambi but, the scene with Oliver's mom in this game really gets me every time that I see it.

Ni no kuni wotww is my favorite game of all time simply because of nostalgia the game came out when I was 5 and I've been playing since then. And I've played it for like 5000 hours I think

God dam no idea why I'm getting ni no kuni videos but it really does take me back. One of the games I completed all the way I was never much of a completionists but for whatever reason I decided ima go for it and literal hundreds of hour later crafting that last item after hunting golden mobs for rare parts that only drop from them and or the final boss . Maybe I'll buy the remaster version later and just play it again after so many years

Trying to 100% complete a Level-5 game is an insane task to undertake. 100 hours would be considered a WR speedrun

I feel like the Wizard's Companion goes so underappreciated. It's definitely one of my highlights on playing the game for a second time, it's basically a built in wiki. It shows tons of information on nearly every enemy, tons of lore, interesting stories, foreshadowing, explanations and even the map proved very useful as it showed all the rough locations of the hidden treasures and forest dweller villages. At a lot of points in the game I said out loud "I know this, I studied my wizardry!" At least 25% of my 90 hours in the game were spent in the wizards companion I honestly want one irl

the effing rare alchemy parts after the game is over is what I've never been able to complete, I haven't finished your video but if you did... YOURE A GOD

The first time I played Nino kuni 2 it gave me the same warm fuzzy feeling inside, I got from zelda wind waker, no other games have ever made me feel like that, like a genuinely happy child… And I’m 33 btw 🤣

Perhaps i suck at this particular game but i never found this one to be easy. At all. It's by far one of the hardest rpgs i've played.

MP is stupidly scarce and the difficulty curve is pretty steep.

Not going to lie, I've not done much post game. But trying to get an few specific familiars was painful. Even more so when the game decides to give you the second copy almost immediately while making the first one a complete PITA.

But that doesn't stop this game from being a complete joy to just replay every now and again.

I have almost 100%ed ni no kuni wotww myself! it's my favourite game and always will be for many different reasons. it's got a really big piece of my heart set aside for it and even simply seeing people play it makes me happy. thanks for playing the game in this video!
