ОтветитьDo you use the same amount of dried root? I am making comfrey ROOT tincture and the dried chopped root seems to have expanded after adding the vodka. Not much liquid. When I use leaves and or flowers there is much more liquid. I am using the comfrey root tincture topically when I can not make a poultice. Your thoughts please on using a tincture as a liniment? The ratios when watching your liniment video vs this video seem very close. Thank you.

ОтветитьHow much of the active compounds would you lose from turning your herbs into tinctures, compared to taking the same amount of whole herbs raw? I assume the plant matter thrown out at the end would still contain at least some amount of the good stuff--and that the % of this would depend, among other things, upon the plant being used. I'm interested mainly in making ginseng and Siberian ginseng extracts.

ОтветитьIs there any reason you couldn’t use a 60% isopropyl alcohol instead of vodka? Even cheap vodka is more costly than a bottle of isopropyl alcohol.

ОтветитьI've tried to find an answer to this other places but, it IS ok to have air in the bottle as it's brewing? Just so long as you shake it regularly? I was stressing hard over the bubbles and space in my tincture and am worried I'm ruining them.

ОтветитьNice video, could we use glycerine oil instead of alcohol, though probably would not keep as long as alcohol extract, but for some whom for whatever reasons cannot have alcohol, might be more beneficial.
