Is 95 precent grain alcohol good for burdock root tinctures?

Can herbal tinctures macerate for as long as a year or would it have to be thrown away after that long?

Do you use the same amount of dried root? I am making comfrey ROOT tincture and the dried chopped root seems to have expanded after adding the vodka. Not much liquid. When I use leaves and or flowers there is much more liquid. I am using the comfrey root tincture topically when I can not make a poultice. Your thoughts please on using a tincture as a liniment? The ratios when watching your liniment video vs this video seem very close. Thank you.

I would like to make a tincture out of Rhodiola Rosea what is the proof that I would use?

How much of the active compounds would you lose from turning your herbs into tinctures, compared to taking the same amount of whole herbs raw? I assume the plant matter thrown out at the end would still contain at least some amount of the good stuff--and that the % of this would depend, among other things, upon the plant being used. I'm interested mainly in making ginseng and Siberian ginseng extracts.
