The only thing I don't like is the lack of lower case. That could be simulated if the smaller sets had the same height templates as the 4". Then, upper case would be 4" and lower case would be either of the smaller sets. I'm going to be receiving my script font templates tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. I'll definitely use some scrap wood first. I'll be using canarywood for my first signs - name and title of our pastor.
ОтветитьCould you send me a link to the guide bushing set you are using withcthe maktia please
ОтветитьDoes it come with a bushing centering bit like the milescraft model does?
ОтветитьI bought the State Park template kit. At first use the register on the bushing sheared off completely ruining the letter. The supplier kindly replaced both and then when I mounted the plate on the router and tightened it finger tight plus an eighth of a turn the plastic broke and the screw pulled right through. I've had that issue with router plates from other manufacturers so not unique to this set, I now have to make a wood, metal or perspex replacement. If I ever get to use the kit I hope it's worth the effort. Someone below mentioned brand compatibility being misleading and I echo that.
ОтветитьWill I be able to do this with a full sized router?
ОтветитьMy router keeps catching on the tape edges that hold the letters down, creating a gouge risk when dislodging. Any solutions around this?
ОтветитьHi, bought the 1 1/2 inch stencils , it tells me to use 30 mm bushing but not the size of the bit, can you shed any light please
Ответитьwhat is the link to the wizard?
ОтветитьWhat is the name and exact model of that router and where would I get one and was a stencil kit
ОтветитьNot as easy as they make it looks. I find it hard to see the template to follow along the letter, template is hidden under base. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьA couple a things to add, you will need to center your guide bushing and plate on your router base first!!! If you don't, at worst your bit will be hit and cut into the guide bushing, at best your bit will be off center and your letters will look staggered or just not "right" depending on how the bit is off set. This can cause a mountain of frustration trying to figure out what is wrong when it is a simple matter of proper setup. So, if you don't have a guide bushing centering jig, you will have to buy one, trust me, it is standard operating procedure for any guide bushing usage and has to be done. The other thing not covered here or in the instructions is the depth of cut. I know this is kind of arbitrary and to individual taste, but a baseline depth for the recommended signmaking bit would helpful. So, being they don't suggest any, I suggest trying a few different depth cuts using the template on a scrape piece of wood to determine what suits you best. Oh, and the DeWalt DWP611PK Compact Router is a great choice for this type of work. I'm not particularly a big DeWalt fanboy, but this router is pretty darn good, just saying!
ОтветитьUnfortunately it’s not quite as simple as this. It’s not obvious which way to install the plate for the router (I have a Triton which Rockler heavily promotes but is not compatible with this kit as-is). I’ve ruined more than one plate because if you put it on wrong it’s not deep enough to prevent running the router right over the templates.
ОтветитьCursive kit coming soon? We can make secret messages in plain sight and the youths will never know what they say!
ОтветитьI don’t believe I got an apostrophe in my state park kit?.
ОтветитьBut what Rockler does NOT tell is that they (today) still have NO solution for languages that have accented characters. There was a very positive review of exact same kit in our local newspaper. But unfortunately the kit missed the Danish letters Æ Ø Å . Same applies to other languages with accents.
Someone should figure out how to do these and sell 3d printed puzzle pieces to complement the kit.
Do the kits come with the proper bushings?
ОтветитьExcellent selling suggestions.
