Would the umi z be a good daily driver? My budget is only £215. Will this remain fast in the long term?

For the price:performance ratio, the UMI Z is a great phone, however I am sad that Mediatek chose a 20nm process for their CPU (Helio X27) compared to the 14nm of the SD 821. A 14nm processor will be more power efficient than a 20nm processor and will save battery life. But I guess it is the price difference!

The graphics processing speed, is definitely better on the UMI Z. I'd ignore that benchmark score, it must be general purpose processor or cpu bias, as the graphics power and speed is very noticiable for GPU load times, and the screen on the UMI looks better.

UMI Z has 4 gigs of LPDDR3 running at 800 Mhz vis-a-vis 6 gigs LPDDR4 running at 1866 Mhz under the hood of 3T. In terms of internal storage, UMI is making do with emmc 5.1against UFS 2.0 inside 3T(which roughly has about 3.5 - times the read/write speeds of emmc 5.1,random or sequential). Even if we completely ignore the CPU architecture differences, I think UMI is doing absolutely great for what it has to make do with.

Also, why do you always say "pretty simular times"? If you are not completely blind, then you should see quite the difference.

The UMI Zs Fingerprint sensor wasn't faster, there just was no animation.

the oneplus 3T was revealed to have been rigged for higher performance on benchmarks so that the usual performance is lower than that seen on the benchmark

Well the 3T has 6gb of ram compare to the umi z

that facebook app test was bs the one plus had a better wifi connection at that point no wonder the site loads faster

For the 2nd fingerprint Reader test with the screen on:I think they're actually both equally fast, only the animation the OnePlus plays is much longer. The animations they play start at the same time though.

When the screens were off both had no animation so the OnePlus that recognized the fingerprint first at least in that case won.

Wow umi beats 3t in some apps , and the price is 2x lower than 3t , such a good phone
