Who else was shaking there head when he said magazine papers lol
ОтветитьCurious what was the top 10 most popular folders for 2020? Or top sales
ОтветитьDCA. I like to go jogging and almost always carry my steel will mini intrigue with me. It's great but I don't have great confidence deploying with gloves on. Is there a similar knife but maybe a fixed blade I could run with? $100 budget and I don't run with a belt on so ideas on how to carry would be nice.
Ответить:-)
ОтветитьThat slip joint spyderco though..
ОтветитьNot a question, but a suggestion for an April Fools episode of Knife FAQ where the questions are not quite answered. As in a $1k for a budget folder or a fixed blade for a suggested folder etc. All in good fun, but sure to get a few giggles.
ОтветитьHey David, how are you doing? I'm a lifeguard during the summer at a camp with a lake, and I'm looking for a folder I can keep in my bathing suit pocket while swimming. Obviously, the spyderco salt knives in lc200n seems like the best option but which knife in that series would i also not have to worry about slipping out of my pocket and falling into the lake?
Ответить👍
ОтветитьI like the Gerber Prybrid Utility for travel... you can remove the razor blade for travel... and buy a cheap pack where ever you are and bang... ya have a functional knife... and bottle opener and pry and rudimentary screw driver
ОтветитьOk... been a while.. I’d love to see Fixed Blade edc options - scout carry, USA made stainless steel- right hand draw... maybe micarta grips... under 150 and under 100
ОтветитьI normally use a pm2 for work due to the blade profile with the pointy tip and ability to open and close it with gloves on. What else do you recommend for hard use folding work knives? I work in hvac/r, so I might be reaming the burr off the inside of a copper pipe, cutting foam insulation or scraping a valve gasket off.
ОтветитьDCA is the Hickock45 of the knife world, when all you want to know up front is if something is good or not. Personally I can't stand the Nutnfancy type knife guys lol they have their place to though so more power to them I guess, I just prefer a more laid back approach
ОтветитьYou should name your next knife the utilage.
ОтветитьHey Dave! Can you recommend a rescue knife similar in size and price to the Boker Magnum Compact Rescue? It must have a glass breaker and a seat belt cutter and fit into the fifth jeans pocket. It could also be a multi-tool not necessarily a knife.
ОтветитьTop video of the year right here
ОтветитьHello dear Sir,
Since i am a first responder i need a good, with glove functioning knife and one hand operating.
It needs a belt cutter, a glassbreaker, needs a bomb proof lock, and optionally a partly serrated edge. Preferebly with holster.
Price doesn't play a role.
Greetings from your german Paramedic/Fire Fighter
Hi David, I'm looking for a bit of a specific knife. It must be sub 6cm (2.36in), manual folder, wharncliffe blade and lefty friendly. Knife is for edc in an office setting so something classier would be ideal. Thanks!
ОтветитьWhy would you ever cut a banana peel?
ОтветитьHi, DCA and the rest of the knowledgeable people reading this. I see a lot of axis lock clones because the patent ran out. Was wondering about Spyderco's compression lock. Will we ever see that lock on other brands? Thanking you all in advance.
ОтветитьIf you can't find other words to say other than, your slightly larger than average hands in every video, I will be forced to unsubscribe, and discontinue buying knives from knife center. It's absurd at this point.
ОтветитьHi David, I am looking for a fixed blade I can EDC. I love a good tanto blade, but I’m not a fan of danglers, would prefer to cross draw or scout carry it. Any knife/sheath options you can recommend would be appreciated.
ОтветитьHi David, this isn't really a question for the series, but I was wondering if there will be another run of the Skipjack. My EDC revolves around a compact fixed blade, and I must say, I am in love with that knife. I am having a heck of a time finding one on the secondary market. Please tell me you have plans to continue production of that knife, because it is saying its discontinued on the site.
ОтветитьWhy would anyone buy one. Meaning the tsa ones, simple way to fix that is stop flying.
ОтветитьLooking to see a list of modern knives inspired by traditional designs from across world history, e.g. kukri, puukko, kudu, duk duk, peshkabz, kawah, etc. there is a lot history to choose from, I leave that to your discretion and interest.
ОтветитьSOG power pliers sell aftermarket tools so you can replace a knife blade with something else like a screwdriver. As DCA says it’s up to individual. In Spain I had a karabiner taken off me.
Ответитьbait and switch. sad sad sad
ОтветитьI love to BBQ on my smoker. You might have answered this question before and sorry if I missed it but I'd like to know your opinion on the best folding BBQ knife. Cutting membrane off, chopping threw bone, etc. Please and thank you
ОтветитьFlipper alternatives to CS Recon 1?
Question: I really like the contoured handle on the Cold Steel Recon 1 it fits my hand perfectly and gives a secure grip. As I live in a cold climate (Sweden) I also appreciated that the handle is G10 as metal handles gets uncomfortably when it is cold. But the Recon 1 is not a flipper. Cold you recommend any flipper alternatives with the same type of handle?
Really wish the leatherman style had a pair of screwdrivers. Would really lock in the purchase for me
ОтветитьIn germany knives that can be opened one handed are illegal to carry, so everyhting with a spideyhole is basically off limits. :/
ОтветитьHi David, I am from Mexico, so I am not an English speaker, so that's why I want to know the difference between write knife which F, knive with V I know is a stupid question, but I would like to understand the difference, I love your videos.
ОтветитьHi David, really enjoy your informative videos. Thanks.
I'm looking for a combat knife w/sheath. I'd like to stay -$100, versatile sheath attachment right/left hand draw and multi-direction attachment if possible, good blade-edge retention, preferably not black but if black that it be easy to paint sheath & handle. Would also like a finger guard and that it fits large to extra large hands. I know I probably gave you a doozie; sorry bout that.
TIA,
Artie
Question: hey DAC you are a legend mate. Have you ever handled a Swiss Army Spirit or the Swisstool? I love them but wondered how you think they compare to the leatherman wave/charge and Surge respectively. I know you are a Victorinox fan and would like to see your comp and opinion. Cheers mate.
ОтветитьThanks fore the update on TSA frirenldy knives. Worth noting that TSA friendly also doesn’t mean you can carry it internationally either. My wife once got stopped carrying acupuncture needles (she is an acupuncturist). These things are hairlike needles!
ОтветитьAnother great informative video.
ОтветитьI knew DCA was a viking! Case closed.
ОтветитьIs there anything more absurd than UK knife law?
'You can have a 3" blade, but it has to be dangerous' !!
Does anyone know if TSA allows full multi-tools (swisstool) to be checked in? Meaning not carry-on? Thanks for the info bud!
Ответить“Weapon laws”;
lowering the effectiveness, quality, and ironically safety of everyday tools since inception.
I believe in Germany you aren't allowed to have a knife that can open one handed...
Ответить“ You’re doin food prep with that little guy? Must take some skills!” 😂
ОтветитьVideo about which self defense ‘weapon’ or tool is approved within a 5150 hold. Laws are bit confusing.
ОтветитьThat Gerber with something like the armbar where you can swap out driver bits would be really cool
ОтветитьThe SOG Sync multitools: is not TSA approved as they consider the awl a pointed weapon, I know from experance. I have a Sog what has a blad but with a T bit driver you can remove the blad. Just know you can gdt dinged for an AWL.
ОтветитьOk, I’m late…but what is the best TSA approved knife or multi tool to fly with?? I’m looking for one…
ОтветитьLeatherman also makes a rebar without a blade
ОтветитьHave you ever looked into Wolf Tooth encase hex bit wrench multi tool and the Leatherman style ps as a combo travel tool kit that is TSA friendly?
ОтветитьI just purchased the Gerber Bladeless, with optional 10 Piece Gerber Tool Kit, for an upcoming trip to Australia, which has extremely restrictive knife laws. All of the tools are well finished and it feels good in the hand. Looking forward to using it in the field.
ОтветитьThanks DCA. I watched this for your review of the Gerber MP600 BLADELESS. I usually use my Leatherman because I feel it is better quality, but I moved from USA to Singapore about 3 years ago, and they have EXTREMELY STRICT knife laws (and most laws in general) along with astonishingly harsh punishments for breaking said laws, so I cannot carry anything outside my house with a blade 😕. Therefore, I asked my wife for the Gerber MP600 BLADELESS version for my upcoming birthday. That's why I'm doing some research on this tool that has already been out for so many years! Thanks for all your content, Steve Bates
