It wouldn’t let me change it to another gmail account. It said already taken but it’s my own gmail account 🤷🏼‍♂️

If I have photos in I cloud. I don’t want to loose them. Apple set up originally with a gmail account but I only use yahoo..com email. I could not change my original to yahoo. Apple said I would loose my pictures in the cloud.
So are you saying I could go to gmail and change it to my yahoo,com account and my apple wallet, I phone will already be changes over. I only have I pad and I phone.

After I signed into my apple account, my screen doesn't show the apple ID box next to the email & phone numbers box. It shows a password box. And, some of the other box's aren't in the same spot but i don' t show an apple account box.What am i doing wrong?

I thought you were going to show how to change from an account you have no access to any longer and you can't log in or receive verification codes, like you comcast mail. How is that done?

My Apple ID email is no longer in service and my current email address was previously set as a secondary contact. I now can’t use my current email for my Apple ID as it’s considered used. According to Apple it’s impossible. Their solution is to create yet another email address and use that. I don’t want another email to maintain and manage. I’m trying to keep things simple not as complicated as possible.

I’ve had the same .aol account for over 30 years. Never hacked, never had to change it.

So stinkin’ confusing! This right here is why I’m still using an old MobileMe/iCloud email login—an email that WAS associated with an old photography business I used to run. My two HomePod Minis kept getting confused, and would never play correctly—always said they were playing, but no sound came out. So I threw them away in frustration. However, my two HomePod OGs play just fine. This is such a confusing system, and I’m afraid that if I change something, I’ll lose a couple hundred movies on my Apple TV, as well as purchased songs. Cripes!

What happens to the original email address that was used as Appel ID. After the Apple ID it was changed to a new email address, will it remain as an active email, or will it be cancelled?

Thanks. You explained it really well. I’d love to hear more about Family Sharing. Like many, we started out with one iTouch and now have 3 iPads, 2 iPhones, 2 iwatches and one MacBook between us. But I can figure out how to split it into 2 accounts so we can text each other’s phones. It’s all under the same Apple ID.

Can I ask a stupid question? I have a gmail account as my current apple ID. I set-up an icloud account 30 days ago. If I want to change my apple ID to this icloud account, will all my purchases transfer also? I am not sure about Aliases just yet, but I want the main icloud account to be my Apple ID also.

What you didn’t mention is once you change your Apple ID to an iCloud email address Apple DOES NOT ALLOW YOU to change to any other email address. I would not change to an iCloud address.

I tried to follow your instructions on a Mac, and when on the Sign-In Security screen, I could not find the box for Apple ID, even though my software is current. On the Email & Phone Numbers screen my email address identified as my Apple ID has a delete option, but I don’t want to do that unless that would with certainty take me to a screen to change the Apple ID. Any advise??

If I change my Apple ID completely ( because I am at risk of being hacked ) will that affect all my accounts linked to my original iCloud account ? ( target, Amazon , etc. )

My aging mother lost her icloud id and password, her code to enter her phone, and the password to the gmail account associated with it. We are at the end of possibilities here unless somebody knows how to bust in illegally. I'M NOT THE LEAST BIT OPPOSED TO COMMITTING A FELONY TO GET IN THIS FKIN PHONE at this point. Good instructive video. A question: my girlfriend has one app installed with another Apple ID. She knows the password, but it sends a two-factor authentication code to a phone number she does not recognize at all, and it might not even exist anymore, or is in use by someone else. All we can see is that it ends with 23. Is there a way to solve this? It seems it is impossible to disable two-factor authentication, this causes a big problem.

From the video I got the impression that yes, but I was just about to change my primary (yahoo) email to an icloud one, and got a warning saying:

Someone please help. If i want to change my gmail account to outlook apple id. it shows me that email address not available. But i dont understand why and i never dit something with my outlook account on apple?

Funny how these are called Apple IDs when it has nothing to do with Apple, why doesn't Apple create an actual Apple ID? Why depends on 2nd party domains and confusing the ID with your iCloud? It's a damn mess.
