What if you want to uninstall Ubuntu and you CANNOT get to any Windows features? I have somehow installed Zorin OS on my computer and it's taking up 100% of my computer, with no way of getting to Safe Mode, my Start Button - NOTHING. I DO NOT HAVE A Zorin DISK because I didn't buy it and never intended for this installation to happen. Bottom line: No Zorin disk and no Windows 7 access. So, does anybody know how to get rid of it?

worked good man. thanks. made that mistake of just deleting the partitions once. stupid GRUB ruined everything and made my life hell for a week. If i knew it was this easy i wouldnt have struggled!

Using the "Windows 7 recovery disc" not the original install disc.

I was okay until I got to where the windows 7 to repair is supposed to be found, it did not find one, what I got was this message: "Windows found problems with your computer's startup option. Do you want to apply repairs and restart your computer"

I did not follow that advice because my win 7 ultimate is working well and I have over 100Gb of Flight simulation stuff on there which I do not want to lose as it takes months and a lot of installing to put it all back. I have an acronis disc image on my backup drive, but not sure if this will work due to the dual booting.

What I did see on the recovery window was that the bottom radio button was selected which says something like recover from a previous image or something along those lines.

I believe the first (the top radio button) box should be selected. I also noticed that on Grub there were two Windows 7 selections where I thought there should only be one to select? all a bit beyond my level of knowledge.

[Can I use the Ubuntu live dvd to install ubuntu again over the top of the original or maybe install Linux Mint over the top]

Why I need to fix this because what happened is the screen resolution for Ubuntu was 1680x1050 when I first installed, but a couple of weeks later for some reason the resolution got changed somehow to 1024x768 selected and a lower resolution which I cannot remember, my 1680x1050 was not in the list of possible resolutions, this was using "xrandr" I need to get back to the native res of 1680x1050.

I tried all sorts of things after googling around to fix this res problem but I could not fix it, and eventually on a reboot I could not get past the ubuntu log on screen as it kept rejecting my password. I did not really understand what I was doing being very inexperienced with linux distro's.

Sorry to be long winded but it's the nature of trying to be pacific.

Thanks.

If windows recovery dont see youre system

So the steps I took to fix it was:
1: Boot into gparted
2: Right click on partition with windows
3: Flag as boot
4: Run windows recovery to fix any other errors (using startup repair, and sometimes when it scans for OS's it repairs automatically)

Great tutorial, you know your stuff. my compaq PC wouldn't let me boot into cmd prompt by hitting F8 on boot, so I used a win 7 disc, and at the select language screen I hit Shift + f10 to get command prompt, just a little tip for your viewers.
